How to avoid a pusher without being rude?

Some people just see their way of understanding. They may be right at many instances but no one likes to be pushed around, even if the other person has their good at heart. How to ensure that you take the advice without being rolled over and being pushed around for the rest of your interactions, and without being rude?

Thank you for your input. The lines I was thinking on was more of a boss being pushy. And there you get free advice :). So there are situations when you are neither here nor there.

Thank you for your input. I agree being politically correct does help, but there are often times when the whole cycle is repeated and that may get on your nerves. You do have a point; maybe the appreciation will hit home one day.
