Do you think cohabiting before marriage can lead to an early divorce?
No. Whether a couple lived together or not it won't matter if they are not "right for each other". A divorce is nothing more than an admission that a (mistake) was made.
One or both people have reached the conclusion that their life would be happier and more fulfilling without their mate. The number one reason for divorce is and always has been (selecting the wrong mate).
This happens when have not taken the time to do some serious introspective thinking in order to figure out what it is we want, need, and desire from a lifetime partner. The key to having a successful long-term marriage is both people have to want the same things for the marriage and (naturally agree) on how to obtain them.
There is no amount of "work" or "communication" that can overcome being with someone who does not want what you want.
From psychology research, it is found that couples that cohabitated before getting married felt better in their relationship and had a stronger marriage, especially if they had sex before marriage. If anything cohabitating causes individuals to realize the relationship will not work as a marriage so there will not be a wedding.

I know that getting married young was probably the first sign that marriage was maybe a bad idea, but a marriage isn't going to work when only one person is putting forth an effort to make it work. I was 22 when I got married; I thought that I was happy until my husband quit his job. I understand...
