No it doesn't affect. It is just that I learn from every body. Listen to every body's opinion. But when it comes to deciding I make decision by anaylizing all the experiences and education from people, books, mentors and me myself etc. You should make your own decision....

Other's opinions affect my life in that I will listen to what they have to say about me, but it doesn't change how I go about my day to day life.  Opinions are subjective and are based on an individual's experiences and what they were taught growing up.  I know who I am, and that some people will like me and others won't.  I've never been one to worry about what people think or say about me. Unless we have walked the exact same path as someone, we can never really know who they are.

I believe the older one becomes the less they care about what other people think. After all life is a "personal journey" and you are responsible for your own happiness. Having said that I believe if you are referring to marital or dating relationships then the best thing to do is seek out a mate who (naturally agrees) with you on the major things in life and shares your same values.

I try not to let them get to me. However, words can never be taken back. I left a job, my parents church, and have learned to ignore fellow students because of some of their opinions. I believe a young woman who is studying to be a teacher should be more intelligent in understanding a geologic map and students ignorance of homeschoolers should be addressed. Or how churches do not focus on the individual, but on the message.

    Not very much.

When I was young it did bother me but I soon found out it was like fighting the wind to correct.  I now only pay attention to close friends or family and even if they get it wrong, I waste no more time with them and go forward.  To do otherwise allows others to control you rather than you controlling you.

    It works for me.

I was very much bothered by other people's opinions for too many years and with heavy consequences.

However life goes on, I've outgrown all the prejudice and Hubpages helped me to build up my self esteem even more.

I wrote a Hub about the positve effects of Hubbers opinions. It's very powerful and it's one of the reasons I love to stick around!
