I have never once in my life received a Valentine's gift, Nell sad  I could be wrong (thinking back) but I don't believe my ex ever even sent me a card!

I used to work in a convenience store (about 7-8 yrs ago) and there was a fella who would come in a few days a week. He asked me out but I said no because I was married. One V-Day he came in and handed me a box of chocolate. Actually, it was a chocolate fish in a box.
I thanked him and thought 'how nice.' After he left I showed it to a friend, who held up the box to look at the fish. I could see the bottom of the box and hand written in blue ink were the words "TO DADDY, I LOVE YOU"  and it was marked thru with a red pen!!!
OMG I had a cow!!! My friends and I still laugh about this!!!  I saved the chocolate until the next time he came in and I gave it back and told him he should give it to his kid if he didn't want it!!!!!

This guy I barely knew-- we hadn't even been on a date alone, we occasionally hung out with the same group of friends and ended up kissing a couple of times in January-- he gave me a mixed tape with the most cliche, cheesy, dramatic love songs ever. And it wasn't even a gag gift-- it came with a card talking about how he wanted to express his feelings and didn't know how else to do it. It felt pretty awkward to be around him after that as it was pretty clear we weren't on the same page.
