We kept our own names, although we thought of combining both names for both of us. We gave our son both our names - but that can't go on indefinitely! If BOTH partners change their names or keep them there is at least some equality. Thx
Amal Alamuddin is certainly a person in her own right. What a pity she didn't set an example to other women. I don't suppose men dream of being Mr (somebody else). I wonder if this is her first marriage - has she also been Mrs X rs Y and Mrs Z?
"Amal Alamuddin is certainly a person in her own right"
- Very true!
Therefore she should be able to do what (she pleases) without having to worry about setting examples. Having "the option" to go with tradition or not is all that matters.

I really can't understand it when women now have the choice. I can't help but think of slaves and dogs that change their name with their owners. Thanks for your comment.
