I think a thought or two every once in a while isn't too bad...

But if its constantly could be considered cheating emotionally...

The dreaming part is a subconscious thing, so for that part of your question, I would say no. However, the "thinking" part can be more complicated.
First, it truly depends on what thoughts a person is having. Many believe that cheating starts in the mind. Before there is ever a kiss, a touch, there was a thought. Sometimes, even though a person is attached, it is certainly normal to think about or fantasize about someone else. After all, we are only human. The important thing to consider is: How strong are the thoughts, and how far would they possibly take someone?
If said thoughts do not cause a person to act, then I'd say it isn't cheating. If, however, the thoughts are persistent desires, then trouble could be ahead.

    Wow what a question.

Infidelity within the thoughts whilst one is with another will always be considered & you will receive some varied answers!

We are all creatures of energy first, & physically second, so I would rather not like to impart my view as this is an old age question of taboo but I would love to know the answers of others.

Is it something that we all do? Or most of us anyway! We wouldn't even know what our partner is thinking or they what we think about either after all we are all human animals & procreation & breeding is in our very genes & genetic make up.

It would be interesting for you make a hub about it.

    Regards Dale

    Great question!

It's been said "thoughts are things" and for those who believe in the law of attraction say the things we contemplate on are drawn to us. It's as if thinking about something constantly means you would like it to happen.
However I tend to believe a crime in the mind is not the same thing as committing a crime in life. Sometimes fantasy is just fantasy. Everyone of us has been guilty of lusting after someone "in our hearts" at one time or another even if it's a stranger passing by for only a moment.
