Are you in favor of putting a 1 year expiry to marriage license?

I've heard that there's a politician who proposed that marriage license, like any other licenses should be renewable after one year.  so you may or may not marry the same person the following year.  is this idea ridiculous or does it make sense to you?

I can see a limited-term arraignment as an *option* at some point (under the law a 'common law' marriage is already fairly similar to this).

But if people want to marry permanently, of course they should be allowed to.

What a fabulous idea for our cash strapped states to raise revenues. Or cities. Or counties. Or whoever issues marriage licenses.
    Recurring revenues!!

I believe there is one country that has a 7 year term limit. you get married and after 7 years if you want to stay married then u stay married if not then you part ways and are no longer married. you both can move on.

wow thanks for sharing.  i didn't know that. it's a little sad that the meaning and "weight" of the word commitment is lessened because it has a term limit.  that's a personal opinion. but then again, they must have their reasons and i respect that. smile

All marriages are optional in that divorce is always an option.
