The ocean of love

We are living beings, we have a heart and we all need love in life. Yes, love. Blessed are those who use the weapon of love to cross hurdles in their life. Love is a power; strength. It is the emotional requirement of our mind as much as food is necessary for our body. If you have people who love you in life, then your emotional state of mind remains in an amiable and jovial state, otherwise you will be depressed and isolated. Actually, the problem is that we humans are not hundred percent perfect. We can’t have hundred percent good qualities in ourselves; there would be surely one weakness in ourselves. Many times, imperfections in us hurt our mind and we feel broken and emotionally shattered.

You might have witnessed in your life that you hardly come across a person, who understands you completely and have never hurt you in life. Well, this is simply because humans are not perfect and can’t give perfect love to you. There are times when you feel heart broken, you feel hurt in your relations and feel stressful and depressed. So, can you discover someone who is the perfect one and give you perfect love? The one who never hurts you, the one who respects you, the one who cares for you, the one who shares your sorrows and joys, the one who sees his/her world in you and the one who gives infinite love to you, is your perfect love. Whilst you start loving someone, you feel a burning desire to meet that person. You get anxious. The anxiousness arises further more.

When you find someone who can give you infinite unconditional love, then your craving to meet that person shall be very strong and obviously your mind shall always yearn for and run after that person. Whether it is day or night, thoughts about that person will float in your mind. What is the perfect love? In our relationships, we enjoy love and affection. It is the love and affection that bring us together. But, sometimes we encounter these same relationships giving us pain, sorrow; hurt, isolation and at times we feel completely disillusioned. How does it all happen? How? Why? Why when a person gives you so much love and affection becomes the main reason of your pain, sorrow and hurt? Sometimes when relationships turns out to be wrong, then people feel depressed in every situation that they feel entirely lost and alone in their lives. Why such relationship problems enter in your life? Why some of your lives are disrupted by your own relations with whom you received abundant love and affection? The answer to all these questions is that, we are equally human beings and divine. Because of our this divine nature, we are exceptionally lovable and because of our human nature, we fall a prey to anger, ego, mistrust and hatred, which later abolishes our strong relationships.

From now on, let’s understand the nature of love which is, blissful and pure as always. Veritable to say, whether it is you, your partner or any of your relations, is having a ‘Divine Soul’ and each one is part of that ‘Universal Soul’ – God. Yes, each one of us. Soul is the source of love in one’s heart and it only reflects from that person when we fall in love. The nature of ‘pure and perfect’ love is just like a shining sun in the sky, but when the sun of love in the sky of one’s heart is surrounded by dark clouds of ego, anger, jealousy and hatred, then your beautiful relationships will get destroyed. It will vanish right at that moment and you’ll be empty hearted.

When we fall in love with someone, we enjoy and love to be in the company of that person, as the bright sunrays of love come through that person’s soul and we feel abundant joy. It bestows a great blessing on us, when we receive pure love from another person. This kind of ‘perfect love’ makes us to realize the goodness, the preciousness and beauty in our soul nature. One realizes the experience of ‘perfect love’ when our soul is beyond the qualities of our personality traits such as anger, ego, jealousy, hatred and mistrust. When our mind is not full of negative personality traits, we don’t encounter any problems in our relations.

In relationships, we constantly face times when the sun of ‘perfect love’ shines brightly in the clear sky and then dark clouds covers this blissful sun by the negative traits of our human nature. So, the sky is infinite and we know that the clouds can’t cover the sun forever. Similarly, if we keep a staunch faith and strong love in our relationships, then I am sure we can cross all the hurdles. We’ll be able to defeat the dark clouds of ego, anger, jealousy and hatred with our power of love. Whilst, any negative qualities arouse in your relationships, always remember the immortality, loving, blissful qualities of love that is shining through the soul of each one of us in this world. From now on, let’s ignore the negative traits of a human and love unconditionally without any ambiguousness. Just the way a mother loves her children, ignoring the tantrums and naughtiness of her children. Every human being is ‘Divine’ at the core, since God as the ‘Super Soul’ resides in our hearts, from where the ocean of love flows and blesses us with the drops of love. I believe that, God is seated in everyone’s heart. We just have to discover him.

Like a clock which needs winding, we as well need love, without it we simply stop.

Wonderful words of wisdom.

Blessings and Hugs

That’s an excellent interpretation. I believe in the saying of Mother Teresa that, "There is more hunger for love and appreciation in this world than for bread." We all are hungry of love.

We all deserve love; it’s indeed a great blessing. Thanks for the sweet words, it brought a smile. How sweet! Blessings and hugs to you as well. =)

I enjoyed your hub. You’ve laid out a great case for love. I especially liked where you talked about the Universal Soul that links us all together. It’s important to see God in ourselves to love ourselves, and, thus, love others.

Love is like when stars clump together in a cluster or galaxy. People come together. In death, it’s like a black hole sucking up everything into one point: God. Or, at least, that’s how I imagine it. Love brings us together and so does God, so it seems reasonable to conclude that God is love. Love is like a star shining.

I was confused by one line, though: “When our mind is full of negative personality traits, we don’t encounter any problems in our relations.” Did you mean “When our mind isn’t full of negative…”?

Your ideas appeal to a wide spectrum of religions and philosophies. Great analogy, as well: the ocean of love.

Thanks for sharing,

I wrote a poem about how the ego might help make love work. I’d be interested to know what you think about it:

I have read in 'Bhagvad Gita' (the holy book of Hindus) that according to Hindu mythology, 'Brahman' is the Universal Soul and we are all connected to it. Philosophers wrestled with this question for centuries. It is said that Brahman can’t be known by material means that we can’t be made conscious of it, because Brahman is our very consciousness and being.

The actual sentence is, “When our mind is not full of negative personality traits, we don’t encounter any problems in our relations.” Yes, it’s crystal clear to get confused, since I didn’t put the word “not” in this sentence. Apologies... didn’t notice whilst writing. Thanks for letting me know the error, I appreciate it. The credit goes to you for reading it carefully, thanks. I’ve corrected the error.

I would surely read your hub on 'Dialogic Love'. That’s true; love is like a shining star. Nice interpretation! Once again, thanks for your valuable comments as always. I always learn something new. =)

Sometimes those who deserve to be loved the least are the ones most in need of love. These are the people who need to be reached by love. There are also many people in this world who don't know how to love or how to appreciate love. I think the subject of love is something we're really never taught at school and in some ways has been left for us to learn through self-discovery. I also think this is a subject which should be explored on different levels as we progress through formal schooling so that we have at least some awareness and understanding of what love actually means and of its importance in relationships.

Enjoyed reading your thoughtful hub and it certainly gave me some food for thought.

Thanks for sharing Surabhi.

That is absolutely true what you've said. In this world, people are hungry for love. To achieve love from someone is more than a blessing. That's right; some people don't know how to love. I believe, love has its own language and very few people know how to maintain it. Yes, I believe this subject should be taught in schools, so that humans can understand the meaning of love, its value and eventually its importance in relationships. Thanks for your valuable comment =)

Thanks for sharing a great hub. This is a message of love for those individuals whose souls are drenched with greed and hatred. These people are so much blinded by their own self interest that they hurt and betray even their loved ones, who were always there to help them. I hope that the spirit of love you've in yourself will be an eye opner for people all around you.

God bless you!
