Definition of the word Perish: Which means to decay or die, to pass from existence, or pass away.

Job chapter34 - 15 : All flesh shall perish  together and man shall turn again unto dust.

Psalms chapter 1 - 6 : For the Lord knoweth the way of the righteous: but the way of the ungodly shall perish.

Psalms chapter 37 - 20 : But the wicked shall perish and the enemies of the Lord shall be as the fat of lambs; they shall consume into smoke shall they consume away.

Proverbs chapter 31 - 6 : Give strong drink unto him that is ready to perish and wine unto those that be of heavy hearts.

I'm sure the bible said for the lack of knowledge our people perish. The bible also tells us " all flesh shall perish together and man shall turn again unto dust", We're flesh and blood humans with bones; that return back to dust after death. We were made from the dust and to dust we will return.

Another scripture from the bible says: Then said Jesus unto him, put up again thy word into his place: for all they that take the sword shall perish with the sword, which means sword, gun or knife or any weapon; if we live with the sword, we die by the same means.
