I'm sure the bible said for the lack of knowledge our people perish. The bible also tells us " all flesh shall perish together and man shall turn again unto dust", We're flesh and blood humans with bones; that return back to dust after death. We were made from the dust and to dust we will return.
Another scripture from the bible says: Then said Jesus unto him, put up again thy word into his place: for all they that take the sword shall perish with the sword, which means sword, gun or knife or any weapon; if we live with the sword, we die by the same means.
