A Youngster worships Lord.Ganapathi after Pooja in the Hut.

Chinnakool Village is a Cool Place.

My Village Chinnakool in Tamil Nadu State has around 150 men and woman, about 25 young boys below 20 years, about 100 children between 3 to 12 years of age.All of them or 99% of them are Hindu's.Their only devotion to god comes to all of them to gather at the same moment when Lord Ganapathi's Idol arrives from a truck to be installed on a new hut constructed by the young boys with bamboo poles and coconut tree figs decorated with colorful cloth, balloons and fancy miniature electric bulbs with music system on a public address electronic gadget. Our Lord.Ganapathi arrived from a shop vendor in Hosur Town 9 KM from our village. The Village Boys collected donations for over 15 days from morning till evening from all the 2 or 4 wheeler vehicles playing on the only main road with pot holes of the village. The boys paid Rs.9,000 to the 5 feet high and 3 feet wide Ganapathi weighing over 300 KG.More than 30 Boys took care to see that not even a scratch is made while transporting this heavy idol and bringing it on a road which has never been repaired properly since 15 years and installing the idol on the platform built inside the Hut.All instructions for the event are taken from the President's representative of the village Panchayat.

On the first day a learned Priest of the Village Temple will come at the auspicious time to install the idol and with proper mantras from the Rig Veda that are made request Lord Ganapathi to bless the Villagers and the village after Welcome Prayers said in Sanskrit by the Priest. The God Ganapathi son of Goddess Parvathi comes yearly on this day and stays for 15 days and than Ganapathi takes his mother to her home from Parvathi's father's home.Married Girls visit their parents yearly which is a tradition in Hindu family. .Ganapathi was created with Mud by Goddess Parvathi and she breathed life to the Idol mud thus he was brought to life and is his mother. Why Goddess.Parvathi wife of Lord Shiva made Ganapathi is another chapter and how he has a elephant head is in our ancient scriptures.

Though Lord.Ganapathi Can be kept for 15 days the local police issue permit to conduct the festival a very special social function for only 5 days on account of communal problems that this hindu festival creates since it is conducted in a public place.Even a single non hindu can go to the police and lodge a complaint that the function with loud music is disturbing his peace if the police had given permission the complaint is not taken otherwise the function will be illegal. .It is this privilege of the minority community who enjoy in our country more than in the neighboring country that the minority or majority can enjoy. If I am correct it is only in Nepal our neighboring country which is a 100% Hindu country tand athat minority can't do this..

Social Pooja of Lord Ganapathi and Pooja at Homes.
Lord Ganapathi is worshiped in different ways at public places and at Homes of his devotees. At home if the idol of Lord.Ganapathi is worshiped it has to be done in a very clean environment no one can touch the idol of Lord.Ganapathi at home with out taking a full head bath while at public places any one can touch his feet with his hand and smear his face with that right hand so as to get his blessing.God loves those who touch his feet with full devotion and purity of mind and thought. At home a 3 time pooja and arathi has to be made as per instructions from the priest. At any public social functions it will be done by the priest. The service charges by the priest is very high at home but if there is a person who can recite the pooja mantras the priest is not required. In our good old days 50 years ago there were plenty of priest. Now all the priest have become soft ware engineers and many of the old priests have gone to various countries where Indians there have built temples since they do not want to come to India.Another factor being both husband and wife are employed and they cannot do pooja daily. Thus Lord Ganapathi is worshiped at home mostly on one day and he is immersed in a tank or river and at some other places like apartment complexes he is immersed in a big bucket of water. At public places how it is done is shown by TV channels how he is worshiped daily with songs with drum beats and music to dance till the 15th day on which day he has to say good bye till I come again.

How Lord.Ganapathi is Worshiped for 15 days.

At home it will be just prayers and feast mostly with bhajan and songs.by household lady's,friends and others. However in big and huge social functions there will be daily various items of music, dance and games on all the days.Experts in singing and dancing as well as preaching come.

At my home Ganapathi can stay for 15 days.
