A Lamp Unto Our Feet
Thy Word
Psalms 119:105 - Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.
The word will lead us. I don’t know about you but when I am looking for a particular answer and I just look at random parts in the bible, usually none of them apply. I think we need to know key verses so that we could repeat them in our head. Also just read a portion every day. So we need to take time to study and memorise verses. Having these key tools (verses) can make a world of difference in times in need.
To make it easier maybe find a friend or family member that wants to memorize verses with you, have three a week and practice every day and then at the end of week recite them to each other. It sounds like Sunday School right? Sometimes as Christians we say, “|I already know that”, we think we are too advanced in our spiritual walk to do stuff like that. But the truth is we need to get back to the basics and back to the bible in a big way.
Many times when something was wrong physically or maybe just something I wanted to figure out, I first turned to the internet and researched some naturopathic solutions or went to something like web MD. Imagine how God must feel knowing we do this first instead of praying and looking to his precious word. I’m not saying there is anything wrong with educating ourselves, we know it can be helpful but let’s get our priorities straight. I could say which vitamin and mineral we are deficient in but the truth is we are more deficient in the laws of the bible.
I like to repeat all the verses I know in my head when I am struggling with something and pray and go back and pray.
The verse says that his word is a lamp unto our feet therefore it will lead us, and it will light the path in which direction we should go or which step we need to take next.
