A Prayer For The Candidates

Won't you join with me in prayer....

Praying for our country, the world, and our candidates.
Praying for our country, the world, and our candidates. | Source

May God have mercy upon us....

Our dear, kind, gracious Heavenly Father,

If it be thy will and wisdom, we beseech thee that thou wouldst watch over, inspire, and guide our leadership candidates with thy inspiration to demonstrate courage and truthfulness in these last days before Americans choose their leaders and representatives for another term of governance.

May they be protected from slander and from those who would cause them harm in any way.

May these candidates have the courage of their true convictions, so that Americans can choose wisely and in keeping with their best intentions to seek unity of purpose in sharing their talents, their charity, hopes, and faith in thee and in the future of this their precious land.

May freedoms be protected and may they strengthen their resolve to live responsibly and to thy glory, we pray in the name of thy holy son, even Jesus Christ. Amen.

Hello Perspycacius, now that Obama has eked out a few points, the war will be on. Mitt has no alternative that to attack his opponent hard. It will be fast and furious. I am hoping for in intellectual and intuitive debate; but this is America, and I can wish all I want! Great hub and voted up!

Wouldn't it be great if everyone on the internet said this prayer and meant it. There is power in prayer, all things are possible with God. May God bless you all in Jesus name Amen

Oh amen to that. I'm still in a dilly about the voting coming up. There are those who say keep with Obama my friend in Florida says he's not to be trusted and to go with Romney. What to do???

My experience here and abroad is that we live in a tough world, one in which gimmicks don't work. When we stand up for what is right we are respected, when we cave in to every interest group and situation we are laughed at. Listen to the debates. Size up which candidate can take a punch for us and come back scrapping with well-timed punches to the head of each problem, and I think you will have picked a winner.

Perspicacious -- What a wise and helpful thing to do...remind us that we need to pray for our leaders, all of them. Thank you. Theresa

Peace. I love the sound of that word.

A note for Gypsy Rose Lee....Friends are wonderful, but not the best sources for voting information. Every voter should search out facts about the candidates from reputable sources (and that leaves out propaganda put forth by campaign managers). We need to know everything possible about each candidate for President of the United States and Vice President in order to make informed decisions. I love my friends, but they don't influence my voting decisions. Jaye

Wow! I defy anyone to legitimately claim that out of all their own research (which most voters seldom do as seriously as I am sure JayeWisdom does) there can have been no influence from the research, comments, concepts, or enthusiams of their friends.
