Cancer - Aquarius
Aquarius is Air and Fixed. Cancer is Water and Cardinal. Hardly seems like there is much similarity to work with, This is one of those “transportation and transformation” couplings that I like to name that way for easy comprehension. If two people fall in love, they can make it. That is the human species. However some couplings and unions will only succeed, or best succeed, if they are “transported to a new place, and transformed in a new way.” There is much hard to pin down here for both signs, but they are like this with everyone. So, in a sense, they share this vagueness as one of their shared qualities. If that’s confusing, it is just naturally so. Back to cardinality and fixedness -- Once they come to an agreement that they like each other and are oddly attracted to one another, and then confess that they are both a bit hard to comprehend, it is then they will have to face one continual struggle: Cancer is a leader. Whether it’s a Cub Scout troop, a cookie sales campaign, a group of church wives planning a picnic, or a group of vice presidents in a fast moving corporation, Cancers want to lead. Aquarians hate to be led, or even told, just a little bit which way to go. Aquarians have been known to change incidental plans just to declare their independence. They just have a very strong sense of their own path.
Aquarius is not easily understood. They do not walk around saying: “I am an Aquarian, I am odd.” They walk around thinking they are just fine. “It’s the rest of the world that is out of step”. Into this argument steps the Crab. The Crab who loves and admires and is attracted to the Aquarian should appreciate their unusual way. They should appreciate it, because it is not going to change. The Aquarian style is to create a new self at every turn. Cancer needs to get comfortable with that and enjoy it. Cancer can be hard to pin down itself. Stormy thoughts pop up continuously. Mood after mood may pass over their faces over a couple days, and Aquarius will watch it, and not be terribly alarmed. They can get along, especially if their individual charts work with each other. They should probably get complete charts done.
Positive Postulate: This partnership (coupling, union, relationship) can be very appealing when both have reached a level of comfort with one another. Ingenious, chatty, all over the place funny and entertaining to themselves and the around, they can plan projects, help the helpless, star at parties and events, and generally be the fun, but odd couple, that everyone enjoys remarking about.
Romance Recommendation: Aquarius is always inside its head. Romance forces it to spread its psychic energy around. The Cancer who cares about the Water Bearer will make the Aquarian comfortable, give it a place to cuddle, get real, and feel the strong power of passion. Cancer has a wonderful combination of really sensual, food-based, smell and aura-oriented, lovely sentimentality all wrapped up inside its emotional heart. Yet, it travels around the realm of subconscious impulse and warrantless fear and strange forebodings enough to be able to give the mystifying Aquarian a place to be comforted.
Conflict Quotient: Shape shifting is something that both here might feel inspired to try. Pinning down angry ego, and watching it defend itself could be an almost entertaining enterprise. The Cancer could laugh, but it does not do so when it comes to conflict. The Aquarian can be brilliant and perverse and both of these things could come out in a blistering fight. This is territory that both would want to retreat from with their hearts intact.
Peace Parlay: Life in the end is repetitive and mundane, and so is Romance itself. This factor asks the question: "Can we be bored together over the long term?" Aquarius and Cancer will not be considered “boring”. As a duo, marching through their wild and wooly days, in and out of each other’s various pathways, boredom is not one of the pebbles they will stumble upon.
Keep Up The Interest Graph: It is hard to imagine this relationship falling into an uninteresting pattern of the mundane stale repetition. Neither would rise up in a complaint that things are not interesting anymore. The Water Bearer should be aware of one powerful truth. What is interesting to them – a new theory of everything, or what was in the Wooly Mammoth’s stomach, may not be interesting to Cancer. The Crab is interested in lots of things on the beach, but probably not the water itself, only what’s in it.
Seven Year Itchiness: There are some signs that by their nature are more stable in their love interests and family concerns as time goes on. Others are not. Aquarian coolness could send the Cancer out into the world, without even being aware. Finding another would not answer their issues, but then it seldom does. Cancer would probably watch Aquarius in general, but not necessarily for straight out infidelity.
ASTROCOMPATIBILITY POSSIBILITY RATING: 60% Positive Long Term - 90% Short Term. Aquarius is powerful upon first focusing on another. Cancer could be quite swept up easily. Down the road, their marvelous mystifying combination would have to live on mutual fascination and patience.
