Barberry And It's Many Uses

Medicinal Uses

Barberry is a herb that people use as an eye astringent. If you are suffering from a cough this is one of the many herbs that can possibly help you. It can help Diarrhea as well as fever.

If you have Jaundice, Barberry is a herb that people use for that as well.

Keep in mind like any medicines it can have a different reaction or produce unwanted side effects if combined with other medicines. If you are on anything you should talk to your doctor first before taking this.

If you are pregnant you should not take Barberry for it can result in miscarriage.

Side effects:
*Symptoms of kidney inflammation such as bloody urine, painful urination, and fever.

* Diarrhea

*Confusion

*Poisening

If you are showing any side effects, especially the poisoning, you should honesty stop taking it.

Magical Uses

This herb can be used to sprinkle across the path of your enemies to bar their way and stop them from following you.

interesting hub. I like reading hubs like this. I read somewhere last week that you can dry the leaves from raspberry bushes in the spring and save them for tea. I'm going to try that next year.

It grows in Europe, Asia, Africa and North America. But there aren't as many species of it in North America. That's why it's best to order the supplies online or through a catalog. Some stores will carry the supplement though.

Voted up, awesome, and useful. Why is it that I've never heard of barberry? Love the magical uses...did you get your info. from Scott Cunningham's Encyclopedia of Magical Herbs? I love that book. And you are definitely an earth element...we have much in common.

Actually I didn't get it from that book. It was a website I stumbled on. Then I decided to do further research on it. I've already heard of the herb before though because I've seen some stores that sell it
