Believe God!

What does it take to believe God? What does it take to trust Him? What does it take to please Him? FAITH. It takes faith to believe God, trust Him and to please Him. The Bible says that without faith it is impossible to please God. What does that mean exactly? It means that God desires that we believe in what we can’t see, touch and feel at least not in the way that you would expect. God is real but in order to experience His presence we must first believe that He is.

What is Faith? Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. We place our hope in someone that to others doesn’t even exist and then we believe in the evidence that we can’t yet see. Heaven for instance is something that as Believers we hope for but the evidence of that hope is not seen by us until we enter Eternity.

It doesn’t take much to not believe … people live that way on a daily basis. I used to live that way but then He introduced Himself to me. Slowly, I have gotten to know the God I serve as Father, Son and the Holy Spirit is very real and not some figment of another person or even my imagination. The more I believe the more He reveals himself to me in every possible way. He manifests Himself in the answer of a prayer, the hugs and kisses of my daughter, the miracle of birth, and provision in the nick of time when I need it.

It has been the most wonderful relationship I have ever had or ever will. He loves me with a love that is everlasting, unconditional, unfailing love and daily I am reminded of it. The thing that people who don’t believe in God don’t get is that it doesn’t take anything to believe in nothing but it takes courage and strength to believe in God. Often people think of Christians as weak and mindless individuals but the opposite is true. We believe in God because He is more than we can think or imagine.

I can debate the Word of God and whether or not it is true with the best of them but that will never reach a person. People are moved by tangible proof of a living God and that proof can only come when He moves and breathes through His believers. You can’t argue with a testimony of “I was raised from the dead and the doctors can’t explain it.” You can’t deny the power of God when a person tells you they were delivered from a heroine addiction and they never went to rehab or a single AA meeting. The reason that the Pharisees were so angry with the blind man was because they couldn’t deny his testimony that Jesus spit on the ground and took the mud formed from spit, placed it on his blind eyes and suddenly he could see.

I encourage us all that believe … share your heart and share your testimony because that can’t be refuted. Share the truth of who He is to you and what He has done for you in your life. Then believe that He will fulfill His promise to draw all men to Him and we will overcome the enemy.

Revelations 12:11 says “They overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony; they did not love their lives so much as to shrink from death.

Let's start living out this scripture and see God move on the hearts of man.

What a wonderful Hub and testament of your Faith. Your right, it takes nothing to believe in nothing, but it takes a lot, especially courage and faith to believe in God, Jesus Christ and The Holy Spirit. Especially in this day and age. We do need to continue to spread our experiences with others so they can be introduced to our Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit in a more personal way.

Reading your hub I am reminded of a man recounting his experience with the word of life, "We declare to you what was from the beginning, what we have heard, what we have seen with our eyes, what we have looked at and touched with our hands, concerning the word of life - this life was revealed, and we have seen it and testify to it, and declare to you the eternal life that was with the Father and was revealed to us - we declare to you whar we have seen and heard so that you also may have fellowship with us; and truly our fellowship is with the Father and with his Son Jesus Christ" (1 Jn 1:1-3).

The Apostle John's experiential faith was founded, grounded, and shared abroad through his writings that we may believe in Jesus Christ, the Son of God, and that his joy "may be complete" (1 Jn 1:4). His was a personal testimony rooted in the tangible/undeniable proof of the Word becoming flesh and living among them (Jn 1:14).

Amen, I agree with your encouragement to share our testimonies as John and others like him faithfully did. God bless your heart.

Well said. It is also a needed reminder in today's times. Many won't understand, but some will. We must be able to live our lives in a way that others can see in. Yes, they will see the flaws and hurts, but they will also be able to see the One which gives us strength and healing for those same flaws and hurts. It does us little good to simply speak truth. As Paul said... "I have become all things..." That is an action, not a debating point.

Thanks for the hub. Keep it up!

Thank you PhilD41. I love your statement "That is an action, not a debating point." We must be real in order to reach anyone ... if we are always preaching with no "real" then we are wasting our breath.
