CHRISTIANS PERSECUTED (even when just trying to talk)

Warnings on the End times by Billy Graham

Days of Apostasy

The days of apostasy are upon as. Truly we live in one of the greatest eras of the church. Many events ( I will go into in future hub) are occurring around the world as I type and you read. These times are all leading to Christ coming in the clouds and calling those of us that believe home. I THES4:16-17 For the Lord Himself shall descend from Heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. My friends that day is coming soon, though I am not ignorant enough to put a date to it. But until then we have a calling of God to spread His love and show salvation is of the Lord.

OUR DUTY TO EACH OTHER

I Thessalonians 5: 15-22

See that none render evil for evil unto any man; but ever follow that which is good, both among yourselves, and to all men.

Rejoice evermore.

Pray without ceasing.

In everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.

Quench not the spirit.

Despise not prophesyings.

Prove all things; hold fast to that which is good.

Abstain from all appearance of evil.

We as Christians need to get together on these writings of Paul and admonish them in our hearts; and towards each other. We need to pray for our fellow servants of God whether we know them or not. My wife and I were starting our business account at the credit union, the manager was helping us to get it made as we would need, and shared a need with us. She knew we are Christians because of the account we are starting and by speaking with us as we worked together. She let us know her brother is in a coma, organs shutting down from sickle cell anemia. The family does not know if he will make it through, if he does it is by the healing hand of the Lord jesus Christ and none other. We prayed with her and hugged her as we left, letting her know we love her in the bonds of Christ and will pray for her and her brother. That is exactly what we as Christians are to do, edify the fellow believers. Lift them up! But, so often we do not speak up we keep our lips closed and voices quieted.

PERSECUTED FOR SPEAKING UP

I have read how Christians the world over are being persecuted daily. Three Palestinian teenage boys are out casts in their families for accepting Christ as Saviour. They have nowhere to live but the streets because their families have rejected them. Yet they press onward for Jesus. Here in the U.S.A we have a teenage girl seeking adoption or foster care for following Jesus, afraid her father or brother will kill her if she returns home. Throughout the Middle East Christians are being slaughtered in masses for their faith. Back home again we are losing ground on churches , we are losing the battle daily over the Ten Commandments hanging in public places. What's next? Are they going to tear down the Washington Monument because it says,"Praise God" on the very top panel that faces heavenward? Bet most people did not know that!

OUR DAILY DUTIES FOR CHRIST

WE ARE NOT TO BE SILENT! WE ARE TO SPEAK AND WARN THE LOST OF THE UPCOMING EVENTS THAT THE DISCIPLES AND CHRIST FORETOLD! WE ARE TO CONTINUE TO GO OUT TO THE STREETS PREACHING THUS SAITH THE LORD GOD! WE ARE TO LIVE IN CHRIST, AND EVEN DIE FOR HIM IF DUTY CALLS! WE ARE TO REJOICE IN THE PERSECUTION WE RECEIVE, I KNOW THIS IS HARD, BUT BROTHERS AND SISTERS WE HAVE A BATTLE TO FIGHT, WE HAVE A VICTORY TO WIN! WE ARE CALLED BY A holy CALLING NOT TO SIT BACK AND BE QUIET, BUT, RATHER TO FIGHT THE GOOD FIGHT, PUT ON THE ENTIRE ARMOR OF GOD AND GO YE INTO ALL THE WORLD! PRAISE GOD AMEN! Ok enough of the shouting, ( that was all free by the way ) on to the glorious days we have ahead of us.

BLESSED ASSURANCE

"Blessed Assurance Jesus is mine oh what a fore taste of glory divine," Fanny J. Crosby. She never saw the falling away like we are seeing. She never lived the Christian persecution as we are in danger of today. All she did 150 years ago was live in a world not being able to see it. Blind she had to endure daily struggles we could not fathom. Technology then did not allow her the freedoms a blind person today has. But she loved her KING, she loved her Jesus. I heard a report from a church synod saying they wanted to take out her songs from the hymnals because they are not doctrinally correct. Heir of salvation purchase of God born of his spirit lost in His love! Is there ever a quote that is more pure than that? Jesus said,"Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God." Jesus said,"Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled." Jesus also gave us promises that day on the mountain when he spoke of these days. He said,"Blessed are they that are persecuted for righteousness' sake: for theirs is the Kingdom of Heaven." What a promise we will be in Heaven one day through all our struggles in this life and He has promised us eternal glory. Jesus said," Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake. Rejoice and be exceedingly glad: for great is your reward in Heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you." My friends He has given us a promise of the bliss of Heaven. He has made us a dwelling place to ever be with Him. I look at the cross, the pain and torture He endured to forgive my sin; I must preach on for Him. I must go to the hedges and highways and compel them to come in that His house may be full! The apostle Paul penned the words," For to live is Christ, to die is gain", I have to live for my Jesus, I have to show the love and compassion Christ had shown on Golgotha 2000 years ago. WHAT JESUS DID FOR ME

I wear a tattoo on my right arm, three nails forming a cross, it is a daily reminder of what Jesus did for me, MY JESUS! Jesus said if He goes away that He will come again, come to take us home forever to be with Him. The last words He spoke in our written word," Surely I come quickly." Will you my friend be ready? For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God. There is none righteous, none that doeth good. For the wages of sin is death. Death is eternal separation from God. But, God commendeth His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners Christ died for us. My friends you have just rode the romans road. Jesus said," He that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out", won't you give your life to Him today? Ask Him to come into your heart and forgive your sin debt? He is a prayer away, waiting for you today. Don't wait another day, you have not the promise of tomorrow. One last story, a true story and I will close this hub. The old preacher I learned under in church told this 25 years ago but it is still meaningful today. " I was at a friends house to show him how to be saved. I talked with him for 20 minutes asking him if he would accept Christ and repent of his sins. HE said he wasn't ready but to come back later and he would listen again. I told him God's spirit will not always strive with man and we do not have the promise of tomorrow. He said that was ok, he just was not yet ready. Finally he said he needed to go in and asked if I were finished. He politely asked me to go. As I turned and walked away I heard a thud from the porch. I quickly turned back only to see him fallen down holding his chest. He was dead that fast. No it was not a heart attack but rather his heart just stopped. Gone and never repenting, what will you do?" My friends it is up to you now. You have seen the way of salvation, repenting ( turning from sin) of your sin and asking Jesus into your life. Remember,All the angels of Heaven cannot make you get saved if you say no, but, all the demons of Hell cannot stop you if you say yes. AMEN, I hope you say yes to Him. It is not an easy life, but it is filled with Heavenly reward!

Michael, this is a fantastic hub and to the point. It is strong medicine to a world that is fading fast. The days ahead are numbered and the persecutions are more widespread, but the word said that it would be. Thanks for the insight brother and God bless you for standing your ground with God.

Wonderful truthful hub Michael. No truer words were ever spoken than those spoken by your Pastor friend to that man right before he fell down dead. "God's spirit will not always strive with man and we do not have the promise of tomorrow"

How many people have put off listening and accepting Christ until a more convenient time for them. For many the right time will never again come. Very sad fact but very true.

Many blessings brother.

Michael, the Hub is extremely well written and gets right to the point, and the heart of the matter.

Spreading the knowledge of God's Jesus' Holy Word in the Bible needs to be accomplished.

Only Our Father God knows, the hour and the day that He will instruct Jesus to return, but this time will not, cannot come, until all of the people of all nations, especially nations like China,The Middle East,Russia, have had a chance to hear and know God's Words of redemption and have the opportunity to decide if they want God in their lives. God has promised to hold back his wrath, until this has been accomplished.

Brother Dave

Lovestoread,Brother Dave, Thank you both for your comments I appreciate them. No we don't know that time and spreading His glorious word is so important. We don't know either his spirit will strive with man, hopefully long enough that as we go conviction will come to the hearts of the lost and they will act upon that and be saved. Praise God we still have His Word and Spirit to share!

Michael, we don't have any idea how good we have it in America that we can come together and worship and fellowship, God help those who use that precious gift to work division, and dissatisfaction among his brethren. There will come a day in this nation where we won't have the freedom behind the pulpit that we have enjoyed, so listen now while you can! Be a doer of the word and not just a listener, I love my fellowship and freedom to show up at the prayer intercessory and pray my heart out with an uplifted voice, Thank you Jesus!

dj, no we don't know here in America, I do know of areas here though that the spoken word is looked down on, I did hear on a radio show that there are politicians wanting to take away our thoughts, trying to even go as far as saying it is illegal to even THINK of "religion" in public. It sounds like insanity but I can see the evilness of this come to pass.

So glad there are people like you that put feet on their faith. Every second of every day there are people going into eternity as we sit idly by. I pray that our loving Father will annoint these words to kindle a fire in our souls to reach out to a lost world with His love and the offer of salvation.

Fred, thanks for the kind words. You know putting feet to faith is hard taking that first step but once a person does God's hands never let go.

So true Michael. The thing is, when we become consumed with His love it becomes hard to remain silent. We become like the prophet Jeremiah who referred to speaking what the Lord has placed on him as a fire shut up in his bones. Lord let that be true in me.

Very well written. The saddest thing I know is that much persecution comes from inside the church this day and time. When a brother or sister falls, many want to kick them in the head and finish them off instead of reaching out ahand to lift them up.

I have one suggestion. The last part is one very long paragraph. It makes it hard to read. If you could break it up into a few paragraphs, it would be much easier on the eyes. It will also make it easier to concentrate on what is written.

Sir Dent thank you for your feed back, Yes it is bad when a brother or sister falls and the church keeps them down instead of helping. Point well taken on the last long paragraph. Guess I got into a writing frenzy and didn't pay attention to how long it was.

Really good hub! However, I would like to say that God and the bible spoke of graven images. When folks look at the cross and pray to it, or when they worship the image in any form of art, this is not following the scriptures. Maybe one could pray about getting that tattoo removed? :-) May peace be with you?

Michael Adams1959 profile image

Michael Adams1959 5 years ago from Wherever God leads us. Author

Jo-,

Thanks for the insightful comment. No this is not a graven image but a great witnessing tool. I have witnessed to people several times over because of them coming to me because of seeing it. "It is three nails made into a cross all representing the cross my Jesus died on, He not only died for my sin but yours as well, may I introduce you to Jesus?" These are the words I speak to people when they ask me about it. I know a lot in the four walls of the church do not like it or they don't think it right for them. However I have found in the streets it is a very good tool in bringing Christ to the lost. They see me as being more on their level not some uppity, goodie goodie, looking down on them because they are destitute. Some say I could do the same without it BUT I MUST SPEAK BECAUSE OF IT. You see we have so many silent Christians these days not willing to speak in public, but I on the other hand am "forced" or obligated to because of this tattoo. I wear my work shirts to where only a part of it shows but it generates the curiosity as to what it is. The door is open and I have the chance to profess Christ. See my hub http://hubpages.com/religion-philosophy/Who-Do-The

Jo,

Thanks again, it is just me my wife surely has helped me with my attitude and she was the one that said go for it when I thought of getting the tattoo.

Great hub.

Great that you have many opportunities to talk to ppl through your tattoo.

Great also that your wife said 'go for it', when you told her about your tattoo intention.

So does she have a tattoo also? or maybe considers one?

Blessings.
