Children Of Fire

Flame of love for Christ

The three hebrews inside the fire
The three hebrews inside the fire

‘A fire devours before them, and behind them a flame burns’ – Joel 2:3

The first Adam destroyed life, and the last Adam destroyed death. The first Adam was afraid (Fear) when he heard the voice of the LORD God, because he was naked (Shame). Therefore he hid (Pretense) between trees (People); using sewed fig leaves (Religion) to cover him (self) and his wife.

When we doubt God’s love, like Eve and Adam, our trust in God is battered and this always result in 2 types of fear; fear of shame and the fear of death. However, the Bible says, ‘Perfect love casts out fear’ (I John 4:18). Unlike Adam, the love of God matters most to Jesus Christ, neither the shame of nakedness nor the death on the Cross.

The passion of Jesus Christ springs from His love for the Father. Nothing else matters! Whatever the color of objects put inside fire, they will always come out black; Zeal is another name for it. Zeal for God at the zenith of love of God is hotter than any furnace known to man. In this furnace, He gave birth to His Children: The Children of Fire. Jeremiah said, ‘But His word was in my heart like a burning fire shut in my bones; I was weary of holding it back and I could not.’ – Jeremiah 20:9 The Psalmist said, ‘The zeal for Your house has eaten me up’ – Psalm 69:9

When the Bible says, ‘For our God is a consuming fire’ – Hebrews 12:29, it means that God will consume (eat up) you first, before using you to consume others. Nebuchadnezzar would come to know the living God through the 3 Hebrew boys who had been consumed by God (the Consuming Fire). The king’s furnace of fire meant nothing to these 3 Children of Fire who had no regard for shame or death. The Bible simply put it thus,

‘…and they saw these men on whose bodies the fire had no power.’

- Daniel 3:27

The beauty of Jezebel and all her adornment meant nothing to Jehu, another Child of Fire. Hear the Bible’s testimony:

‘Now when Jehu had come to Jezreel, Jezebel heard of it; and she put paint on her eyes and adorned her head, and looked through the window. Then he said,’ throw her down’. So they threw her down and some of her blood splattered on the wall and on the horses; and he trampled her under foot’. – II Kings 9:30 – 33

Look around you closely and you will see these Children of Fire, emerging here and there, gathering for the final onslaught on the evil harlot church system. Nothing moves them except God.

In judging the rich, wealthy and arrogant Babylon, God raised and sent the Medes to quickly carry out His assignment. God described them thus:

‘Behold, I will stir up the Medes against them, who will not regard silver; and as for gold, they will not delight in it’. – Isaiah 13:17

Watch your back; for God is again putting the spirit of the Medes upon the Children of Fire right at your doorstep.

Those Children of Fire can not be trapped by anything, because they are caught up to God like the Manchild born by the Woman clothed with the sun (the Church) in the book of Revelation chapter 12. Fame, Money, Crowd and big buildings are nothing but horrible stench to them. They have holiness on their shoulders (concern) and the love of God in their hearts (life).

Like Moses (Hebrews 10:24 – 25) and Mordecai hidden in the palace, so some of these Children of Fire are kept in high places having no regard for titles, positions, or the accolades of men.

‘When Haman saw that Mordecai did not bow or pay him homage, Haman was filled with wrath’. – Esther 3:5

The Children of Fire’s assignment in palaces is to cast down argument and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ (II Corinthians 10:5).

Jesus trusted God because of His love for God, the very thing Adam doubted. Those who are coming to know God through Jesus must love and trust God too. The Children of Fire must put God on and above every other thing. In the labor room of faith, the bible testified of Jesus thus:

‘And again I will put my trust in Him. And again; here am I and the Children whom God has given Me. Inasmuch then as the children have partaken of flesh and blood. He Himself likewise shared in the same, that through death He might destroy him who had the power of death, that is , devil, and release those who through of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage’. Hebrews 2:13 – 15

Daniel was so consumed by talking with God, that he had no regard for the lions and the rewards promised by the Belshazzar, the king meant nothing to him. He was a child of Fire that devoured the king:

‘Then Daniel answered, and said before the king, ‘let your gifts be for yourself, and give your rewards to another; yet I will read the writing to the king and make known to him the interpretation’. – Daniel 5:17

Peter was another child of Fire, totally consumed into God with nothing left of him to be enticed. He reacted sharply to money compromise thus:

‘But Peter said to him, your money perish with you, because you thought that the gift of God could purchased with money!’ – Acts 8:20

From the time of John the Baptist till now, the Kingdom of God suffers violence and the violence Children of Fire are taking it (coming in) by force. The only language that the devil understands very well is violence. The Apostles of Jesus stood before kings and kingdoms and decreed over them the Word of life. In the face of death and in chains, the gospel was preached. They were unstoppable; they were consumed with the zeal of the Father.

Like Adam, those that love their lives at the expense of the gospel of Jesus Christ, will be too careful of death and careless of life. On the contrary, like Jesus, those who love the gospel of Jesus Christ will be too careful of life and careless of death.

‘They overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony; they did not love their lives so much as to shrink from death’. – Revelation 12:11

When you are consumed by Fire, nothing else can consume you. The fire of our love for God should be greater than the fire of persecution from the enemy. That was the secret of the people of old who had testimonies. The roll call is recorded in the hall of faith in the book of Hebrews chapter 11. Good enough the list is not yet closed, many are enlisting as children of faith, even right now in our generation, your name also could be included. Catch the fire, let God zeal consume you before the fear of the enemies' fire.

Get ready to implode before you explode, receive His Fire now.

Preparing the Bride,

"And what more shall I say? For the time would fail me to tell of Gideon and Barak and Samson and Jepthah, also of David and Samuel and the prophets: who through faith subdued kingdoms, worked righteousness, obtained promises, stopped the mouths of lions, quenched the violence of fire... they were stoned, they were sawn in two, were tempted, were slain with the sword. They wandered about in sheepskins and goatskins, being destitute, afflicted, tormented- of whom the world is not worthy."

The vision of God so prominent in their eyes that their lives meant nothing because they saw the promise afar off. Their fire burned bright within them so that the forces of Satan had to try to extinguish them but could not. Great hub pastor Segun.
