Christ Our Peace
What is Peace?
Peace is the absence of war, but how do we define true peace? How do we link true peace and oneness? My Pastor in a recent Bible Study said the key to unlocking the Bible is by finding Christ in all the scriptures, from Genesis to Malachi (OT) and Matthew to Revelation (NT) He is there, even from the very beginning. The promise God has made to Christians is that He is our peace. So why doubt our salvation?
Are you receiving God's supply?
Ephesians 2:14-18 is the verse that has came to my mind today as I myself was struggling with some things regarding my worth in making it to Heaven. “For He Himself is our peace, who has made both one, and has broken down the middle wall of separation, having abolished in His flesh the enmity, that is, the law of commandments contained in ordinances, so as to create in Himself one new man from the two, thus making peace, and that He might reconcile them both to God in one body through the cross, thereby putting to death the enmity. And He came and preached peace to you who were afar off and to those who were near. For through Him we both have access by one Spirit to the Father” This verse is not just doctrine, if there is any type of conflict I believe this verse is the answer to finding peace.
True peace is not merely avoiding conflict or avoiding hostility, it is being one with the Jesus. Paul tells us the secret of peace, he himself is our peace, Jesus makes peace between peoples or countries and the peace is permanent and genuine. Paul is telling us that in order to live at peace you must have peace. A lot of people think that by clearing the deck of all problems we can resolve all conflict but that doesn’t work because in reality the conflicts are never resolved and will keep coming back. The first step to finding peace is to acknowledge that you are unable to do so (Pastor Towner) Pastor also said that we do not have enough love, patience, compassion and so forth because we lack the supply, how true is that! God doesn’t clear the ground for people to wipe everything aside in hopes the problem is solved because that doesn’t work. God starts with the person, He says peace is a Person, and in order for you to live at peace with someone else, you must be at peace with the Person of Christ. If you have His peace, then you can start solving the conflict around you. The place to start finding peace is settling any problems that you have through Christ, because God has already supplied the means to do so, we just need to receive it. (Pastor Towner)

If God has promised us peace then when the enemy strikes and doubt creeps into your mind you have to take a stand and beat the enemy down, the enemy has been trying to break us down since the beginning. His ultimate goal is to destroy God and all His people, you and I. At times it seems like a constant battle because the enemy is reluctant to recede from his plan, but overall through Christ we are able to receive the Sprit of God which will help us overcome the obstacles that are set in front of us, he has supplied us with all our needs, take hold of them and use what God has graciously given to us. I have witnessed the amazing glory of God and have heard testimonies that are biblical, in no way do I doubt the power of God, but the enemy can try to break you, it is at that time that you put on the armor of God (Ephesians 6:10-18) and take a stand for him. There is nothing greater than the unconditional love that God has for His people, that in itself is beyond words when you feel the love flowing through you from God, He loves all of us. Christ is the peacemaker of all men and women, He preached peace.
2 Peter 1:2-3 “Grace and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord, as His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue”
