Conversations With Two, Eight, Seven - Real Ghost Pictures and Story
Photos of The Spirit(s) in my House
Paranormal Experiences...the Spirit Presence was ominous
My landlord (in Ketchikan, AK) called one day and asked if I’d like to make some extra cash by cleaning one of the other rentals. Of course I said, “Sure!” and went on my merry way to the address he gave me.
I walked in and was stunned into silence. I stood in the doorway with the door still wide open as I scanned the front room from corner to corner. It looked like the people who’d left only took what they were wearing because it looked like everything was still there, including the woman’s purse! The TV, stereo, it was all there, including food in the fridge. The landlord explained to me that when the rent for this house didn’t come, he went to inquire and found the house as it was. He waited for three weeks and they didn’t come back, hence his calling me.
I began moving all the stuff outside so I could clean. I can’t clean when it’s all cluttered with stuff like that, and it took me half a day. I figured there must be animals that had gotten in because I kept hearing noises upstairs. I was afraid to see what was up there after looking at the living room.
I went to get cleaning supplies and a large white candle. Something about being in this house kind of creeped me out, but I wasn’t sure why, really. There were lots of noises, like things being dropped upstairs and door closing and such. I lit the candle and said a prayer for protection and went about my work. I tried to pay attention to only what I was working on and nothing else, and it made time go by faster.
It took me three weeks to completely clean that house, and I did find a litter of kittens in the walls of the upstairs. I just knew those little rascals had been what was scaring me.
It Became the Ghost in My House
Two years later the landlord called again, this time to ask if we wanted to rent the big house I’d cleaned before. Another set of tenants had up and disappeared on him and he wanted to get someone in there who was responsible and that would stay.
Compared to our small apartment the house was huge, and we were happy to accept his offer. But, once again I had to clean it out before we could move in. Amazingly, the same thing had happened. The people just left, and left all their stuff.
I was shocked to see that someone else had done such a surprising thing. I knew these people had kids, and all their clothes, toys and everything was left behind. Thankfully, they took their dog and cat.
We spent the better part of the next month cleaning and moving our stuff over - it was only down the street from where our apartment was and it was a slow, leisurely move. The first night in the house made the kids scared, which I didn’t find unusual, they were only 8 and 10.
Haunted by a Ghost; How We Met Two-Eight-Seven
I used to teach creative writing classes online, and I often recorded them so that anyone who didn’t make the class could download it. I was sitting on the couch one day recording the week’s lesson and I kept hearing things going on behind me and in the other rooms. I’d say a sentence, stop the recorder and listen to what I said before I’d move on to the next sentence.
Some of these noises were being picked up by my digital recorder and I was getting irritated. In my frustration, I held out my recorder and asked loudly, “So, if you insist on bothering me, at least tell me, what’s your name?” I held the recorder up as if it would help someone speak better. Of course nothing was said and I rewound it to start where I’d left off, and then I hit play to make sure I got the right spot. I almost wet my pants when I got to the part where I asked the question and I heard a response from a woman on the tape. She said, “My name is two, eight, seven.”
It was clear as day, I nearly wet myself! I got goosebumps and it felt like my heart stopped for just a moment, and I looked around the room, seeing nothing. I wanted to bolt, open the door and run outside until someone else could come home, but I had no where to go, no way to get there and it would be hours before someone came to get me.
I sat with my back against the wall, staring out into the room, hoping someone would come home and make me feel safer. Isn’t that funny? Even a child coming home would have made me feel safer because I wouldn’t be alone, then. Suddenly I thought of my kids living in a haunted house and the thought shook me to my bones.
That Was Just The Beginning of Our Haunted House Stories
I have since gotten more recordings from 287. She was kind and answered questions. And, we found out she wasn’t the only spirit there. There were at least two others, and 287 had said she was there to protect the child from the others. The child?
We heard our dishes rattling, furniture scooting across the floor, someone falling and making a really loud boom, and the faucets would turn on by themselves, and the dresser drawers would open by themselves. At first we were constantly on our toes, wondering what we’ll see or hear next.
After we’d go to bed, we’d still hear all kinds of noises out in the living room, so one night we decided to put up a camcorder and see what we’d find. The next day I couldn’t wait for my husband to get up and I ran to the camera to watch it. I had barely turned it on when a strange voice played. It was a small child who was calling out for “Mommy” as if he were scared.
Our Best True Ghost Pictures Came From This House
We started taking pictures around the house - literally around the house, outside and inside. In nearly every shot we got anomalies. Balls of light flying around or hovering somewhere. Bars of light that came from nothing and even a smoky mist sometimes filled the house, but we could only see it on the pictures and not in real life.
We started recording all the time, it became a part of daily life. 287 constantly interacted in friendly ways and we grew to like her. But we had the strangest house in Ketchikan! Even our friends knew of and had witnessed or heard things in our home.
This is getting too long. I’ll post another one to tell you more. But, while you’re waiting, you can look at all these photos that we took at that house, both inside and out.
I also have the recordings, and as soon as I can figure out how to put them on here, I will. Any pointers?
I have tons and tons of stories and photos to put up here at the hub. Some of the best ones were taken where the Ketchikan Police asked us to find out something from a dead man. I hope you enjoy these stories as much as we enjoyed getting all this evidence.
