Coral And Its Magical Properties

A Coral Stone
A Coral Stone

When we think of Coral we don't really think of it as a stone, we think of the sea for it is of the sea. However it is in a way considered a stone, or rather skeletal remains of marine life called Coral Polyps. We see Coral now as decorations in aquariums but they have uses that many may not know about.

We may see coral used in jewelry but besides that this stone is also used for many things by Pagans as well.

Ancient Times

It is said that the Ancient Egyptians actually had a use for Coral. They would place pieces of it in tombs because they believed it would protect the are from evil spirits. In their beliefs coral, each and every piece contained a drop of divine blood, giving it the ability to keep them safe.

The Greeks believe that coral came about when Perseus chopped Medusa's head off and the blood reached down to the bottom of the sea, creating coral. I find that to be rather interesting actually. The Ancient Greeks have interesting beliefs as to origins of things.

Magical Properties

This stone is a beautiful stone and because of it being said to have an organic origin it is supposed to help us reconnect with nature and its many different wonders.

If you require help with emotions Coral is said to help quiet them and bring peace as well. It can help with intuition, creativity, imagination and visualization with the anyone who may need it.

It is actually said to be able to aid in communication with the Ancient Ones of the world to help get knowledge that one may need at the time being.

Many stones and crystals can help in healing and can aid in meditation. Though I always tell people to be wise about this, to not fully rely on the crystals. I also tell people that using crystals does not give you the right to avoid seeing a doctor. It is very important to keep that in mind. I like to always use crystals along with whatever the doctor has given me to help me with an illness. However if you don't like taking medicines you can always ask if there's anything herbal that may help. My doctor is very open to this kind of thing.

Coral of a dark red color is used to help heat and stimulate the bloodstream. The ones that are closer to a pink shade can help with your heart, to bring forth harmony. Then there are the red/white ones. These ones are said to be useful in healing any kind of mental disease and anemia. These ones may also strengthen the circulatory system and bones. If you need any kind of aid with tissue regeneration then the red/white ones are the ones for you.

I myself do not use this stone all that often because it is of the sea and I really don't connect with the sea that well. However it is a stone of its own right and I feel that just because I myself may not like it that doesn't mean it doesn't deserve to be written about.

I do find the colors of them to be beautiful and would consider to wear them in jewelry. Coral if anything makes beautiful bracelets.

When I go to the beach, I usually let the ocean send me her gifts. Sometimes I put my hand down into the sand and pull up a little piece of coral. I have two pieces sitting on my altar right now to represent the water element. Whether you connect with water mainly or not, coral should be a part of your's a special gift from the ocean herself. :)

I have a large collection of coral. I recently purchased a full astrology chart reading for myself (it was only $2!), and found out that I am much more influenced by water than I ever thought, so I guess I found all of that coral for a reason! Like Kittythedreamer, I only take coral that I find on the beach, because I know that no one is out there harvesting it to sell. Coral is beautiful, and so is your hub! I love the story about Medusa's blood.

Ah, imagine all those tiny celled creatures dying by the thousands, for thousands of years, what an effort! Lovely piece, umm, might be a bit longer? We hardly begin before we are done? Liked it a lot! lily

Kitty, I do intend to have some coral in my collection, of which I am forever working on.

Stephaniedas, interesting that you are more influenced by water than you first believed. Thank you for readinging.

Lily, only now looking back do I realize how short my hub is. Mmm, must not have been as awake this morning as I thought I was lol. It is very thought provoking, those creatures dying for so many years. Thank you for reading.

I've been browsing onilne more than 3 hours today, yet I never found any interesting article like yours Pictures really do tell a lot of words. It is pretty worth enough for me. In my opinion, if all web owners and bloggers made good content as you did, the web will be a lot more useful than ever before.
