Daily Intangibles

Daily Intangibles….elusive, vague

Forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us….

We get in the habit of confessing our sin each day, but really are we covering them all? Obvious error are easily explained to God, leading to a clean slate. What about the elusive gut feelings we have, that at times we are oblivious to and when aware hard to confess.

Just thinking about having a tarnished soul in the presence of the Lord in judgment is a sobering thought.  Becoming aware and working through the daily intangibles is a project very hard to undertake, but necessary and will be well worth the price we pay.

There are four areas of sin that if go unchecked can be carried with us to our end without realizing it.  As christians our goal is to be spotless in the day, and yet even after relinquishing all our definable sins to the Father we are still with blemish.

Pride; defined as arrogance, conceit, self importance

With our accumulation of worldly wealth and or position which carries a shadow dark enough to blind us as, to the sin pride is.  Pride carries hurt to people we love, repels good intentions and attracts like minded.

Jealousy; defined as envy, covetousness, resentment

When is enough, enough?  Jealousy is a weak flaw that attacks our hearts in a destructive way.  It is a want of what we do not have, the desire for what others possess with an end result of resentment that grows like a cancer without a cure. Jealousy can consume life by distracting us from the bigger picture of our heavenly gain.

Vanity; defined as self importance, egotism, narcissism

How can we truly be humble when our “self” holds center stage in our life?  Will our stature be of any importance in facing our eternity?  We will be left standing naked to our true self.

Selfishness; self-centered, lack of consideration for others

How can we give when we can not get past our core?  When our core is kept in tact, it is impossible to continue to bear fruit.

Where does that leave our relationship with God, and what’s the point of repentance in our lifetime if these four areas are not recognized, and most importantly dealt with.  Don’t get caught in the end with sin that you will be accountable for.  Dig deep in your heart and if any of the areas of pride, jealousy, vanity or selfishness has a grip on your soul, recognize and seize them.  Daily pray for strength they do not return to be a stronghold that keeps you from being spotless in the face of our Father.

Hey there Saintatlarge,

There are shadows that hide the obvious from us even from our own reflection. Fact is, God does see everything and it grieves Him when we cannot recognize the intangible sin, though we may walking in it.

So glad you contemplated the picture, it was a tough one to fit, but it works:)

Enjoyed you stopping by. Blessings and thanks:)

Canuk? Let me in...

Hi Timely, i thoroughly enjoyed the photo of things unseen, but are there like shadows. Nothing is invisible to God so keep short accounts and not allow our conscience to become seared.

Simple, touching, with marrow... eh! (from another Canuk)LOL

Blessings, L.

Quill,

The trend is on, I hope it stays constant and not fade out as a fad. The Lord is always trying to communicate with us, it is awesome how He does have more attentive ears listening. As with me when He speaks I am a sponge :)

So, "timely" is Canadian humour, is "aye" still in the running? You are blessed to live in a beautiful area!

Hugs to you and God bless..

Hi Timely and may I be so bold as to say a "Timely" Hub...smiles...little Canadian humour.

I have watched a trend this past while in the writings of hubs where people are writing just as you, rethinking their walk with God in a deep and profound way.

This is a wonderful example of soul searching and seeking how we can do God's will in our daily lives...Great Hub...well presented and very to the point.

Be Blessed as God speaks into your words
