Did Satan Create Racism?

Why is there so much racism in the world today? There are laws against it, yet it still exists. Racism is horrible, but people still practice racism. All of us have red blood, white bone, and grey brains. Babies play with each other, not matter what color of their skin, but when they get a little bit older racism starts.

Hating someone because of the color of their skin, the place where they came from is called racism. If someone is abused, denied a job or a raise because she is a woman, the term is sexism. There are many more problems like these in the world today. People hate others because they are gay, or lesbian, fat, or dwarf, the list could go on and on.

But question is not only when did racism start, but who started racism? Racism has been on this earth for a very long time. Genesis 4 is the story where Cain kills his brother Abel. After Cain has killed Abel God confronted Cain, who admitted to killing Abel, but was afraid. So God put a mark on Cain. A mark that would change the way he looked. So, that anyone who killed Cain would suffer a vengeance from the Lord.

But, who made Cain kill Abel? It was not Abel, nor was it his mother Eve, nor his father Adam. So who is behind this sin? Satan. Satan is behind this sin.

Next we look at the Tower of Babel. Part of Genesis Chapter 11. Now the whole earth had one language. And they said to one another " Let's build a tower with it's top in the Heavens". And the Lord came down to see what the mortals had built. Since the mortals had built it so well, God needed to confuse their language, and scatter them all over the face of the earth. So, if building the Tower of Babel was so horrible, that God had to separate the world, who caused the mortals to commit this sin? Satan. Satan is behind this sin.

After the Tower of Babel was destroyed, people were unable to recognize or understand each other. People who went to cold places began to develop pale skin, while people who went to hotter places, began to develop darker skin.

However, skin color is not the only thing that makes racism so horrible. As what was written in an earlier hub, it is not only racism that exists in this world, but what drives racism, what makes it strong. For example Hitler felt the Aryan race was superior to any other race in the world. That is why so many Polish people, Jews, People in Germany with any kind of handicap and many others were killed in concentration camps.

So who or what is behind all of this? And why has racism existed for so long and has never stopped?

The devil created racism. Galatians 3:28: There is neither Jew nor Greek, Slave nor Free, Male nor Female, for you all are one in Christ.

Since all humans are one in Christ and God loves all his children, Satan has felt nothing but anger, jealousy , and rage. The devil is full of evil. And he has taken it out against us in many ways and one of them is racism. Because of the harm racism has harmed so many, and people have experienced it in the entire history of the earth., So, yes it is true Satan created racism.

George Junius Stinney Jr. was, at age 14, the youngest person executed in the United States in the 20th century (1944) The boy was so small (5'1) they had to stack books on the electric chair. This clip is from the movie "Carolina Skeletons" which is based on that event.

Because there was literally no evidence against him (accused of murdering two white girls, he was just one of several young African Americans rounded up) the question of Stinney's guilt and the judicial process leading to his execution remain controversial (ie. there's a strong possibility they executed an INNOCENT person)

Q. why post this video?

Michele, you have presented a sobering, somewhat shocking, but meaningful Hub. I had never given thought to who created prejudice, which can turn into racism. I just thought that some people had a genetic disorder or an improper upbringing. I think you are right Satan did start racism, prejudice, greed and all the other sins that cause so much trouble in the world today and have been responsible for so many wars, so much death and so much agony. Your knowledge of the Bible is excellent and the conclusion you have reached, while perhaps not totally new, certainly puts it in a light that people can understand and maybe, just maybe, learn how to fight and overcome it in their own lives. Outstanding job.

Michele, very interesting hub and points. I know that we are all sinners, as that is why Christ had to die on the cross, and men have had evil in their hearts since the beginning of time, and Satan has been around since the beginning of time as well. I know God's Word tells us that those who do not love, do not know God and, so racists, who hate, do not love and, therefore, do not know God. In His Love, Faith Reaper

Thank you Larry

I almost didn't put the video on. It made me want to cry. It is only part of a movie, but the story is true! So, I did put it on. Reading the bible, it kind of jumps out at you. I know it is weird, but it just kind of did it. I do think about racism. But, when you think about it, and read the bible, it sort of jumps out at you. Well for me anyway.

Michele, very insightful hub and I totally agree. Satan created sin and racism is a sin, no question.

You'll forgive me for not watching the video - watching the "Green Mile" is sufficient, I think. Same kind of scenario, except it wasn't a true story and not a kid being executed.

One day, when we're in heaven, Jesus will take care of Satan and his deceivers and racists.

Ann I am sorry, but I disagree. When Eve eat the forbidden fruit, she was deceived by Satan. Yes, Eve did sin. But who was behind the reason for that sin? Satan. Satan deceived Eve. Yes we do sin, all the time. People allow Satan into their lives. They allow Satan to control them. Some even worship him. But, Satan is the liar, the thief, the evil one. That is the reason I believe Satan created racism and many other horrible things in the world. But, people are the ones who practice it.

Michele...I can agree with one part f your very nice Hub but disagree with another. First of all I also believe that satan is root of all that. However, he did not start nor create racism...that is all human. Satan introduce hate and jealousy into the world. cain was jealous of Able and that became ate and led tgo murder. The introduction of the first two rersulted in the final action which was an act of Cain. Satan introduced hate and because of hate and lack of understanding humans developed other actions like someohe hating someone else because of hw they look. Humans tend to be afraid of what they do not understand and that in it of itself is a learned action. satan introduced evil and hatered and humans in our sin nature and developed all the other extra stuff that comes with those feelings and actons and ideas. All we (humans, people) really need is hate and we will take that to levels beyond comprehension. Adolf hitler hated his mother and turned that nto a hatered of Jews and then others. The superior arian race stuff kinda came later. He hated his mother because she dd nothing about his abusive father who by the way were Austrian and Jewish...go figure. The introduction of hate is the act of the devil...the rest we need to take full ownership of. God is love and from love derives tollerance and seeking to understand...the anthesesist of love is hate. Satan was an angel and angels were/are jealous of humans in the book of Hebrews the angels asked God "Whos is man that You are so mindful of him...?" When the third of the angels "fell" with satan God simply punished them. When man "fell" because of Adam (actually Eve caused the fall but that is a whole other Hub) God sent His only Son Jesus to establish reconciliation between us and Himself. And He did so by means of the ultimate sacrifice in Jesus death on the cross...but then revealed that He can conquer even the hate and evil of death by His ressurection is why He stated that he now hold "all power in heaven and on earth..." Satan introduced hate and jealousy into the world...racism is a human condition derived from hate and jealousy. There is a story of two farmers. The white farmer and the black farmer. The white farmer's mule died. Because he could not turn his soil...his harvest was goind o be limited to none existent. The black farmer came home from cburch one Sunday onl to find his mule dead...shot in the head. When the white farmer was asked what happened...he simply said yes he killed the mule. When asked why...he simply said...the least a white man can be is better than a n@##$%. That was all him...satan put the jealousy and hate of his neighbor in him...but he killed the mule. The Bible teaches us that it was because os jealousy that Jesus was crucified. But Ciafas did not know he was also fulfulling prophecy in the prcess. Do not give satan any more credit than he deserves...but remember to hold him accountable for all he deserves. Again great Hub Michele...just thought I'd add my 25 cents (as opposed to 2 cents) hope you don't mind. :-)

What I tried to write, what that he put the hate in us, and we do the actions. I hope that makes sense.

Ann1Az2 profile image

Michele, I guess we'll have to respectfully agree to disagree. Had Eve not eaten the forbidden fruit, there would be no sin in the world, except that someone, sometime probably would have succumbed to Satan. Eve had a choice - she didn't have to disobey God, but she was "beguiled by the serpent."

I'll be honest, I don't know if I could resist a talking, memorizing snake, either. If I knew what I know now, I could!

Michele...one sch company is Zappos. I recently went on a tour of Zappos in Las Vegas and was astounded with the way this cmpany operates ad how they litterally encourage diversity and personal taste. They allow employees to literally decorate their work area anyway they choose. The CEO does not have an office but a cubicle just like everyone else...and is readily accessible to all. They keep their employees constantly updated with what is going on in the company as well as many many many incentives for employees. Manageers, supervisors, and employees are empowered. They fully encourage personal customer service however long the call takes. All benefits are free to include breakfast and lunch every day!!!! NO I DO NOT WORK FOR ZAPPOS AND HAVE NO VESTED INTEREST IN ANYONE BUYIN FROM ZAPPOS!!!

I simply believe that they have an awesome thing going on...

BTW there ae many many more things positive about Zappos that I did not list.

Wouldn't "God" be the racist he is the one who caste Satan, lucifer, the light bringer, out of heaven for having too much ambition. It was to over throw "God" but none the less he fell, wouldn't you be angry too, to be kicked out of paradise? So maybe he did initiate Hate in the world, but hate begets hate. Where did Satan learn it?

Michele Travis profile image

Michele Travis 4 years ago from U.S.A. Ohio Author

Lima-6 Well if you read Genesis after Eve ate the apple, we know it was the tree of Knowledge. God said " They have become like US" Which means that God created angels before he created the Garden of Eden. Then, of course, God took Adam and Eve out of the Garden of Eden. Satan and 1/3 of the angels rebelled and were thrown out Heaven. God did not turn us into robots. Satan is evil and can still blind us. But, Satan had knowledge, and still does today.

gaeparks profile image

gaeparks 4 years ago from North Las Vegas, Nevada

Unfortunately you are assuming that angels which lucifer was one and is now a demon who is a fallen angel...that they/he have/has no ability to think. Humans have thought and choice...so do angels. They are created beings and have choice is why 1/3 of the other angels "fell" with satan. Yes he was called the light bringer...yes he was the angel of music...but yes he had choice and made a very bad one...just like Eve and subsequently Adam. and If you would or have read a Bible you will know that the events in the Garden of Eden also resulted in what is called "the fall of man..." Yes satan is angry but it seems you are debating a subject you do not know much about...as it was/is not his anger that is his problem it was/is his rebellion aganst God and ultimately his evil that is his sin. Research...research...research...please.

Lima-6 profile image

Well considering that the bible was written by man, wouldn't that suggest that the ideas/ stories are from that perspective; therefore man already knows hate, because man has already "fallen" as you put it, but it still does not get down to who created hate first? And isn't the whole Adam& Eve thing played, God made man, so he knew we would falter. We were made to sin, made to question, made to thinks for ourselves, so should we be punished for our free will that God gave us? You must understand I am not looking at this from a religious standpoint but from a philosophical one. Its all just conjecture anyway, but interesting to discuss none the less.

gaeparks profile image

gaeparks 4 years ago from North Las Vegas, Nevada

Lima-6

First of all an may have held the pen persay but the words were inspired by the Holy Spirit of God to ensure tyruth and accuracy. Secondly one cannot address a religious topic from a phylosofical point of view as that will make no sense. It will be the "square peg in a round hole" dilema. And to say that biblical events, thoughts, ideas and concepts are comjecture is shortsighted at a minimum. The term "played" as you've referenced is an attempt to minimize the truth of the Word of God. It is easier to tear down what one do not wish to accept even when the truth of it is evident and the fact that you and thes can and do tear it down lies within free will that God has given even you to thibnk as you wish. Choice is a powerful thin and to sa that is was/is all a game being played out is to limit ouself frm digging deeper into the truth. The story of the barber comes to mind. A man sitting gettin a hair cut asked the barber if he beliecved in God. The barber stated emphatically "yes" and in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. The customer then asked why doesn't God make people believe if the alternative is hell? The barber answered...free will. The customer then asked why don't people believe then...do they not know? The barber said he openes his shop every day and he is available to cut hair every day and people who would seem like they need a haircut walk by, drive by and some even look in, but onl those who see that value of the barber and the benefit of the haircut will and do stop in. This would be true even if e was giving the haircuts away free. People make personal decisions and are proud to do so.

The story of the barber is much like (although not exactly ) believing in God. He is always there waiting and only those who choose to accept Him will. And for those they get much more than a hair cut. But if you do not walk up and get the haircut, you will never realize the benefits of having a haircut. And will never fully understand those who say how that haircut makes them feel. The experience of the haircut and very little to do wth the actual barber but everything to do with the haircut. The barber is but an instrument of delivery...the same as the writers of the books of the Bible...it is about the Word and its meaning and value and very little to do with the writer with the pen.

Michele , I am guilty of being a realist by my life experiences, evil lies within each mans heart [woman too], to some degree each of us is as evil as satan himself ! hence Hitler , Stalin and Sadam or Osama bin Laden , whoever . The minute that we start blaming devils and demons we shift the blame from mankind to something outside of our own responsibility . Great hub .....Racism is the most evil fault that man has !

I am going through this bit by bit, but in Isaiah Chapter 14:12 O how you have fallen from Heaven, you shining one. son of the dawn! You have been cut down to earth, you are disabling the nations.

Then in Job Chapter 1:6 Now it came to the day when the sons of the true God entered to take their station before Jehovah and even satan proceeded among them.

In both of these chapters satan is called " son"

2 Corinthianians 11:14 And no wonder, for satan himself keeps transforming into an angel of light

Also, in Genesis 6 we are told that the sons of the true God began to marry the daughters of men. That is the reason Nephilim were born.

The Nephilim were giants. In the bible none of the angels have ever been described as women. There are many references to angels as him, or son.

That site however is very interesting, but most of the references in the bible, to satan are him

Actually the Church created racism. It did so when Joshua entered the Promised Land and slaughtered all those already living there. It did so in the time of Christ, viewing Samaritans as dirt, hence Jesus' parable of the Good Samaritan. It did so by justifying slavery and got rich in the process. Blacks were black because they were cursed by God, descendants of Cain and so on. The Church did all these things and more so if the Devil responsible, then the Devil rules the Church.

Matusadona 2 years ago

No, actually Radical Rog, you are an idiot. Where in the Bible does it say Blacks were Black b/c they were cursed by God, descendants of Cain? Didn't all of Cain's descendants die in the flood? You must be a mormon, only the magic underwear fools perpetuate this gravely false doctrine. My Bible tells me Ham was the progenitor of the Black race, father of Ethiopia, Egypt, Libya, and Cannan. Noah cursed Canaan, whose people were eventually wiped out, but where does that leave the rest? EXACTLY! Shem is the father of the Jews, and Japeth is the father of Gog and Magog (whites and asians), and guess what you guys are? That's right, the gentiles or PAGANS! You guys were a non-mofo factor throughout much of the Bible, you're nowhere to be seen in the Old Testament! So you're not only a fool, but an insignificant one at that!

According to the Book of Job, arguably one of the oldest books in the old testament, next to Genesis, God himself only, gives Satan permission to test man. I don't personally blame Satan for creating racism, but is allowed to by God's say so. It is one of God's tests to bring you to his forever preeminence as The Most High. God uses the devil to his advantage, to strengthen his chosen people!

I admire your Hub & thoughts & opinions on this particular topic. Me, as a Christian & believer of The Word, already knows the purpose of sin & temptations put upon us here on Earth. It is to condition us to move further in our sanctification to his forever glory!

But... ( I'm a somewhat critic, who challenges constructive criticism unto my fellow brothers & sisters in Christ ).. I believe your message was weak to a non believer, who is curious about racism & to prove to them properly about racism & it's roots. Your references to The Word aren't provocative enough to someone who isn't a fellow believer & may think you & your Hub are drinking the Kool Aid like the rest of us Christians are.

Your message was strong, but your follow up was weak. Us believers already know Satan is behind racism & is the strong arm set forth to try & deceive the world. I just adamantly believe since you used scripture as reference, you were reaching to convince someone who knows not The Word, and you could of represented it alot better, b/c me before being an unbeliever, worldly man, your argument to why Satan is solely responsible for racism wouldn't of convinced me whatsoever. But of course, who am I? I'm just merely a commenter who wanted to push my opinion through this option to comment.

I appreciate you sharing your opinion however. It maybe just a reminder perhaps to us already born again believers who already know, using elementary lessons? I just wish it was more convincing to the worldly eye & set out to pursue planting seeds amongst the unbelievers for good harvest pickings. Either way, God Bless you & peace be upon you fellow hubber!
