Do you have the right combination

Source

It is both of them.

There are some who follow Calvinist. They believe it is by faith alone, not works that we are saved.

A person is not justified by the works of the law, but by faith in Jesus Christ. Galatians 2:16

There are some that believe like the Armenians that we are saved by our works.

In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead. James 2:14-26

It sounds so confusing doesn’t it?

Well, permit me to help you.

When we become Christians it is by belief and faith that the only way to salvation is through the blood of Christ. This is faith and it is true.

Then where does the works come in then, you ask?

Once we have given our lives to Jesus we become a member of His Holy family. In this family we each have a predestined career to follow.

“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart” Jeremiah 1:5

Now, we are not all destined to be prophets. Some are destined to be mothers and fathers, nurses, teachers, salesmen and women. Where you are is not important. What you do is. So, we are saved by faith alone. When saved we allow God to mold us into the vase He has prepared for us. We do this out of love for Him, NOT to gain entrance into Heaven.

Faith, as Paul saw it, was a living, flaming thing leading to surrender and obedience to the commandments of Christ A.W. Tozer

How do we know what our destiny is?

Read the Bible, listen to sermons, join small Bible study groups and of course pray. Then, the Holy Spirit will guide you into your God chosen path.

The Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things John 14:26

Most times when God reveals His preordained path for you it will involve a huge act of faith on your part to obey. It is hard at first but becomes second nature after a while. There will still come times of testing. For me it is usually once a year.

We are always on the anvil; by trials God is shaping us for higher things.Henry Ward Beecher

As you come more and more into Gods sphere, you will experience more and more of God, His presence in your life, His comfort, love, care and guidance in your life.

One more important point: When you guide some to Christ, please do not say “Glory halleluiah” when they give their lives to Jesus and walk away believing you have done your job and now it is time to go out and find more lost sheep.

Do you know that when surveys are taken of people who give their lives to Jesus at the Christian concerts and Crusades three months later about ninety five percent of the respondents sat that have gone no further and don’t even care about Jesus? When asked why they reply that it is because no one came and talked with like having a Bible study afterwards.

That is like inviting someone to come to your country that does not know the language, culture or laws. When they accept, you are happy then walk away leaving them there. Soon they will regret coming and go back home.

So too it is with you. If you are like me and are a planter then after the seed has been planted guide them to one who will nurture them and weed them as they grow from a seed to the plant. If you are anyone else, invite them to have small Bible study groups. An exhalent place to begin would be Saddleback Church web site or RBC booklets or Dick Innes at acts@actsweb.org and go to resources. Let them pick a topic, get the material, read it and talk about it.

Some want to live within the sound of church or chapel bell; I want to run a rescue shop within a yard of hell. C.T. Studd

Don’t be surprised if you learn a few things along the way.

Prayer: Thank you Jesus for Your great sacrifice that allow me entrance into a grand relationship with Abba, You and The Holy Spirit. I ask Holy Spirit that You open my mind and heart to know and follow the special purpose our great Creator has planned for me from before I was born. When You bless me with the opportunity to guide a little lost sheep to You thank you for providing the materials necessary to properly educate them. I ask this in the name of Him who has made this opportunity available Jesus Christ. Amen.

May the sunshine of Jesus’ sweet love bless you today and every day

Good hub. The balance between faith and works can seem confusing, but they do go hand in hand don't they? Saved by faith to do good works.

Keep on 'keeping on'.

I believe it is the relationship that matters most with Christ. Thanks for your challenge in how faith is seen by others.
