Don't Settle For Something Cheap When God Has More

Updated on January 4, 2012

Your feeling so much apprehension, causing your nerves on the edge a little or a whole lot. You feel that God has promised you something, but the truth is all facts are leading you the opposite direction.

You are trying to process the reality that seems to become more relevant everyday. The reality of failure, despair or simply facing an impossibility. You are facing denial, trying to believe things are going to get better. You feel you haven't lost your faith entirely, but you are hanging by a slender thread of hope.

You are in the place where you can be vulnerable to the enemy. Satan preys on your weakness, he delights in blurring your vision and threatening your faith.

My friend Jesus experienced the taunting tempter as you can find in Matthew chapter 4. He understands your struggles, He faced the ultimate pain that led Him to the cross, but His resurrection power is ours for the asking. We don't have to dwell in tombs of sorrow and defeat. We have power and authority and in Jesus name we can overcome anything.

Neither give place to the devil. Ephesians 4:27

Whether a Christian or not we as human beings face trouble. A positive attitude is very important , but will not take you through your trouble like a relationship with Jesus Christ.

When you are left in a hopeless situation, you have to rely on the real HOPE.

I remember when the top ranked neurologist who was an old Methodist preache poked his long bony finger in my face ( knowing my faith in God) said, " If you don't have faith you will die! You are going down fast!" I had brain damage in the mobility part of my brain causing me to be cripple and causing my muscles to collapse nearly smothering me.

I had to quickly come to grips and make the decision that I was not going to settle for a cheap answer. I had 3 kids at the time whose momma was wasting away. I knew I had to get complete victory. I knew that in God's Word He said, " By His stripes we are healed!"

Without going into the whole story I will say, " I was a pathetic example reality of mere impossibility!"

My impossibility was a platform for a miraculous possibility that would not only change my life, but built the faith of many that witnessed my deliverance.

All the medical field offered me was temporal comfort and relief, but I refused to settle for a man-made temporal survival, when God had complete revival.

Because of all the bogus, faith-based, charisma, money-making schemes out there, people have annulled the truth of miracles. I agree there is so much fake out there, but where there is a fake there something real to whom which they try to counterfeit.

That wonderful night in a little country church I was nearly carried to the front for prayer. No, there was no big money making preacher, nothing but concerned family and friends with faith in a great BIG God. As my tears flowed the presence of the Healer filled the place. A moment that mere words cannot describe, all I know is " Something got a hold of me!" The hand of God healed me completely. I came a cripple that would have probably died, and left walking completely restored to health.

What mutiple doctors could not explain and only brain surgery could have relieved, Jesus took care of it without a shave to my head or a cut in my skull.

I am not gloating or claiming super faith, but I refused to sell out to cheap imitations when I can have the real deal.

Once a young woman and her husband was going through a financial crisis, they begin living on a very tight budget. The young woman went to the store and saw a jeweled accessory, it was faux, but she still admired it. She seen it only cost $3.99 so she went ahead and compromised their budget and bought it.

Her husband seen her purchase and under strict orders demanded her to bring it back to the store. He insisted at this point they could not undertake any extra spending pleasures.

The young woman was very frustrated and grabbed the item and receipt and slammed it on the store counter. " What is the big deal, she wondered?" What difference does $3.99 make in our situation?"

Time went on and things begin to get better and soon the painful scenario was forgotten.

It was time for the couples wedding anniversary, the husband handed his lovely bride a special package with a glowing smile. She opened with anticipation. Her eyes opened wide, startled at what she had seen. In the box was the jeweled accessory she had only dreamed of having. No, it wasn't the $3.99 faux plastic jewels, but rare expensive costly jewels. She knew then that her temporary sacrifice paid off BIG.

I related that story to remind you that you don't have to settle cheap imitations. God has his best waiting for you! Yes, you may have to go through struggles and trials, but like the old song said " The Harder The Battle The Sweeter The Victory!"

Sometimes He gives and sometimes He takes away, but we will understand it better by and by. You came way too late to tell me that, '"It's just too hard for God." " Nothing is impossible with God!"

Listen to this song I wrote, a song born from a great trial in my life.
