Emotions Jewels of Life
Emotions are usually triggered by what ever happens in our external environment. However these emotions do not originate there, the seeds that give life to these emotions are always within us. If hate arises then one must search within to find its source.
Usually we will find that we have at many stages in our lives made judgements on our own actions and thoughts that invoke a particular emotion, which in turn have led us to making judgements on other peoples actions and thoughts. Some of these judgements can be quite erroneous at the time of making them and we do not realize just how erroneous they are.
Whilst we may mend our ways and continue on our journey, these judgements sometimes stay etched in the deep recesses of our mind because we have not fully let them go. Our judgements then get covered up by layers of denial or false belief that we are free from the effect they had on us.
Often too these seeds are buried so deep within we cannot always recognize that they are there and we are convinced that the external trigger is the cause. Therefore we begin to blame and often we get use to not taking responsibility or ownership for these emotions. We then have the attitude, (s)he made me do such and such or (s)he made me angry or they are irritating to be around etc etc, when in all reality they were merely triggers for the seeds of our emotions within that helped them to burst forth.
It is not an easy thing to take ownership of our own emotions because we have for so long disowned them. But it is possible over time to get comfortable with owning our own little trophies of emotions that we have created if we are aware.
If we are fortunate enough to discover one of our buried little trophies, often times more than not we will find other little treasures sometimes called jewels of life, we did not know existed within us. Hate is an emotion and if we find this within we are sure to find the jewel of life called love lying patiently beneath.
