Enjoying Our Earthly Life

Enjoying Our Earthly Life

“I know that there is nothing better for men than to be happy and do good while they live. That everyone may eat and drink and find satisfaction in all his toil – this is the gift of God.”

                                                                                  Ecclesiastes 3:12-13

The Bible admonishes men to be happy. It means God wants us to enjoy our life and find satisfaction in all our laborings.

We should enjoy every part of our lives, We should enjoy eating. When we are eating we should not be in a hurry. We should chew the food and enjoy its taste  before swallowing it. We should  enjoy sleeping. We should enjoy spending our leisure hours. We don’t have to have much money to enjoy our leisure time.  By simply enjoying to listen to a beautiful music will do.

We should find satisfaction in our work,  We should not merely work for our salary. We are working because we do love our job and enjoy every bit of it, no matter how humble it may be.  If you are just working merely for salary, how miserable would your work life be. If you will not enjoy your work you will just be bored in your work and it will be a very miserable life. Whatever your hands find to do, it may be just as lowly as  wiping the windows, you should be enthusiastic about it and must enjoy every bit of it.

You must learn to enjoy life whatever is your economic status in life. You  don’t need to be wealthy in order to enjoy life. With the little things you have you can enjoy life. You must learn to be content  with the little blessings  the good Lord bestowed on you. If you don’t have an expensive stereo learn to enjoy with your radio.

You don’t have to possess much money to have a happy life. You can enjoy life in all its simplicity as long as you are living in the center of God’s will. Achieving  happiness in life depends upon the attitude of a certain person. A person may have all the best things this life has to offer but may still find his life miserable. A certain person may just possess only a few things in life but may be a truly happy person because she/he enjoys every bit of his/her life with the only few things he/she has.

A true Christian  can be genuinely happy despite of being deprived of many great things the world could offer. Experiencing the love and presence of God is a sufficient reason to be happy in life, no matter how simple life may be. For it is the presence of God’s fellowship in one’s life the one that brings genuine happiness to a person.

Enjoy every people around you.  Enjoy your parents, enjoy your children, enjoy your husband and wife and enjoy your friends. Enjoy every moment with your children while they are young. Do not hurry them to grow older. The stage of youth is the shortest period  in the life of a person. And when they become adult, you will not see them often.. You must enjoy your spouse. Do not get distracted by his/her weaknesses. Learn to accept him/her for who he/she is. Love him/her unconditionally as God loves you unconditionally. Consider his/her good traits.  See the good things in him/her rather than magnify his/her shortcomings.

We have to enjoy the moment. Sometimes when we are traveling, we are obsessed with getting into our destination, we forget enjoying the sceneries on the way.  While traveling on a bus . we should enjoy viewing the sceneries while we are traveling.

We should enjoy every stage of our life.  If we are now in the midlife, we should accept the reality that we are  already past the youth stage and must not live in the illusion  of restoring our youthful looks. We must learn to accept our real age in life and learn to enjoy the things that are meant for people in their middle ages.

I believe with all my heart that God likes us to enjoy. Why did He give us taste buds  ? So that we will enjoy our eating. God likes us to have pleasures in life as long as we are not violating Biblical principles. It does not mean living a godly life is living a lonely life. In fact a Christian is instructed by the Bible to rejoice always as it is written in Philippians 4:4; “Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again. Rejoice.”

But as Christians our ultimate joy is found in doing the will of God in our lives. We should find our joy in serving God and in serving our fellow men.  We should enjoy the presence and fellowship of God each day of our lives as we wait upon the fulfillment of His will in our lives.

Cristina, Beautiful! "But as Christians our ultimate joy is found in doing the will of God in our lives. We should find our joy in serving God and in serving our fellow men. We should enjoy the presence and fellowship of God each day of our lives as we wait upon the fulfillment of His will in our lives." Amen!

In this 21st century when some of everything is going on we must become discerning... However we can still have HOPE in the LORD! "Jesus came that we might "have life to its full!" We can enjoy life knowing that the Lord ultimately has complete control! When we pass from this life to Heaven we have the gift of eternal life.!

Thank GOD for JESUS and HIS plan of SALVATION!

Thank you for sharing, In HIS Love, Grace, Joy, Peace & Blessings!

I love this Hub and I to believe that the joy of the Lord is our strength. I found out that without Him it's not easy to enjoy life as it should be enjoyed. The wisdom that is given after being born again and fellowshipping with Him on a regular base, opens up the gates of joy and everything around you becomes enjoyable even when it at one time wasn't. Praise God! I voted-up on your Hub my friend. When you get some time, come visit me. Be Blessed and enjoy your earthly life with Jesus.

Cristina,

Though I rejoice and agree with all content herein, while reading it I could not help but think of the poor and how poverty can distort perceptions of reality. I thought of the over 700 million people worldwide who do not get enough food and the 40 million who die from hunger and hunger diseases and the 25,000 who die for lack of clean water. They do not get enough in which eat and drink and find satisfaction.

“But as Christians our ultimate joy is found in doing the will of God in our lives. We should find our joy in serving God and in serving our fellow men.” AMEN! AMEN!

Enjoying our earthly life is intrinsically connected with that of our fellow man.

Thank you for this marvelous hub Cristina that offers much “meat” to chew upon.

Love, peace and hope in Him!

Forever His,

Fantastis hub cristina- Even before reading RevLady's comment, I started to think of the masses of humanity that have so little. We should get a great sense of satisfaction when we help the masses in whatever way we can. Whether it be financial support or direct service. If we truly love our neighbor and see how easily we could have been born into their circumstance, it will become as though we are helping ourselves as we help them. I look at them as though they are Jesus Himself. I look at them as though the are me. It brings great joy to help where I can.

Hi RevLady it is great to read your comment here thank you for appreciatng this hub. Your visit and comment is much appreciated. Yes it is very sad to realize that millions are living in hunger and cannot enjoy life. Let us continually plead for God's mercy in behalf of them. But we must be always thankful to God with even the "little things" He provided for our enjoyment. Blessings to you and regards.

Several years ago the Father started dealing with me about enjoying every moment of every day. Chris and I were going through some tough times financially just shortly after we gave birth to our first child together. We were living with Chris' sister and I can so remember thinking, "I'll be happy when...." I was laying on our bed and I heard Father speak so clearly to my heart. He admonished me to be happy right where I was and to live as if I would never move from Mary's. I was shocked and I thought oh no Father, surely you jest. He went on to say, "because if you live everyday thinking that you won't be happy until....and I chose to take you home you would have wasted all those days." From that day on I endeavored to be content and everyday was a gift. We ended up living there with her for over 4 years and those days truly sped by. Can you think how miserable I would have been if I had lived out those days just waiting for what I thought would be better days! Bless you Cristina, come over to my hubs soon!

It is great to hear from you again judicastro. Thank you for gracing this hub. Your visit is much appreciated. Thank you also for imparting a part of your life's experience. Truly we should look at each day as God's gift to us. Each day is a new opportunity to experience the love of God and His faithfulness. The Bible admonishes us to rejoice always because we as christians have always great reason to rejoice. It is the presence and fellowship of God that really make one's life joyful even with only little things we have. Remain blessed always and regards.

I am thankful to God for my family, my life and lastly, but not least for my work in the Lord. Earlier in life, I was disappointed because I was not promoted in my work, but I attended a meeting in New York and somebody brought up the subject of Moses working as a shepherd for his father in law. He became a fugitive after killing another Hebrew and fled. From a life as an Egyptian prince, he became a shepherd looking after sheep for 40 years. I changed my attitude since then. Promotion comes neither from the east nor the west, but from the Lord.

Thank God for opening my eyes to reality!

Hi einron it is great to hear from you again. Thank you for dropping by. Your visit is much appreciated. Thank you also for imparting a portion of your life experience regarding work. WE are always admonished by God's Word that whatsoever our hands find what to do, we should do it with all our might no matter how humble the work is. Eventually promotion will come because we have a good attitude towards work. Remain blessed always and regards.
