Everyone In The Church Is Not Christian

All That Go In The Church Is Not Of It

Jesus gave us a very important warning at the outset of the New Covenant when he spoke of the 'Parable Of The Weeds': "The owners servants came to him and said, 'Sir, didn't you sow good seed in your field'? Where then did the weeds come from?' 'An enemy did this', he replied". Matthew 13:27,28 NIV

Here, Jesus is talking about the world, and how Christians live, work and, play side by side with unbelievers. He speaks of how, from the roots, they are so intricately entangled that to pull one up would ultimately mean pulling up others, unintentionally, as well.

The Church is suppose to be that, 'Light on a Hill', that brilliant radiance of influence that bears the weight of the God of all creation. The one who dared to clothe himself with humanity and become a universal spectacle. Putting all of creation on 'Notice' that in Him alone is life. But, there are some among us who are spreading dangerous heresies, false teachings, that does not harmonize with sound biblical teaching. This is being done from the pulpit of their own 'man-made' and 'man-directed' religious organizations.

I would like to say that we are not out to malign anyone or, in anyway, sully the reputation of any brother or sister in Christ, or anyone else. We are Christians who, being defenders of the faith, are committed to protecting the body of Christ from all falsehood that is being preached in the name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ; and any falsehood that threatens the well being of the faithful and, as such, shipwreck many.

One of the most damaging heresies that have shipwrecked many is this so called, 'Prosperity Doctrine'. This so called 'Prosperity Doctrine' is not found in the Old Testament or the New Testament. The whole doctrine is based on selected verses in the bible that has been taken out of context, misapplied, misunderstood and, misinterpreted. This false doctrine is totally contrary to biblical truth. Check for yourself! One place to look is in Psalm 73. Read the whole Psalm, it completely contradict the prosperity doctrine.

I urge you to see what others have to say about this so-called prosperity doctrine. One website you can look at is:

I definitely agree with you. I get so sick of people saying that we can just say it, believe it and it's so. I realize that our Lord desires us to prosper and be in health, even as our soul prospers, but I'm afraid that this is too often taken way out of context. What about the Christians in the third world countries that barely have enough clothes to cover their backs? Does this make them less of a Chrisitan? I should say not! They are the ones who have learned trust. This causes them to live closely to the Savior and like a trusting child believe that He'll supply. The prosperity group are like spoiled children. They quit asking and trusting and started practically demanding things of the Lord.

Blessedmommy, I am glad to read that you are watchful over your spiritual well being. The bible tells us to test every spirit, regardless of how it sound or look. All that glitter is not gold, and all that is said .... is not so.

I am not so concerned with what people preach, I am more concerned with what we, as Christians, believe. We need to know how to take what we hear to the Word of God and weigh it against the truth of God. What don't need to take what someone else say at face value without testing it against the Word of God. Indeed, we should not be so flippant with things that ring eternal. Our eternal soul depends on the choices we make in this life. In all your learning, be sure you choose a God fearing man or woman to help teach and guide you in your spiritual journey.

It's all true. It's like the worker that goes to he job and does nothing all day and then wonders why he did not recieve a raise. Not quite - salvation is a gift, but we have to accept it. No one can do that for us.

One can't just show up and pay lipservice can one?! Unfortunately, not everyone knows that yet, but we hold out the best hope for more.
