Introduction to Exploring the Prophetic and Spontaneous Worship of the Lord - Part 1 of 6

Updated on May 2, 2015

Do you long to go deeper into His Presence?

Are you finding that every time you enter His presence you are distracted?

Have you ever wanted just to stay but find that as you are in a meeting you can't as they want to go elsewhere?

Do you long to sing spontaneously in the prophetic or in tongues but there is no room given for it to occur?

Do you have a yearning to gather other worshippers into His Presence so that Jesus receives all glory, all honour and all the praise that He so rightly deserves?

If you have answered yes to at least two of the above I would safely say you are an explorer in the making. An explorer that is a laid down lover waiting expectantly for His glorious appearing as you enter into His Presence. For it is there that you enjoy to the full the very reason why we were created in the first place.

My prayer for you is that you will learn from some of the ways that I have discovered in my walk with the Lord through this series of six articles. The ways of entering and staying and sitting at His feet for as long as you would like or for as long as He desires you to be there.

Let us begin our exploring then by encouraging you to first ensure that you are not distracted from truly hearing what I am saying. As you don't know me I would just like to say that my heart's desire is to always show Jesus only, so please, know that what you are about to read in this series comes from that place.

When I first came to the Lord in 1986 I found that I truly wanted to know Him because I was in love. I had never felt this kind of love before, it truly was a love that was supernatural because nothing else on earth held me captivated like His love did.

I have stumbled often over the years, finding myself getting caught up in denominational differences. I even became what I would call 'Religious' for a season but one thing consistently stood out over those years. That one thing was and is Jesus and His deep yearning that He had placed in my spirit to worship Him with all that I am and with all that I had. I was naturally gifted with creative gifts so it was perhaps a bit easier for me to use these for His worship but that did not mean that I did not first have to discover how to ensure that these gifts were led by Holy Spirit as an acceptable sacrifice and not given from my own flesh. I had danced professionally whilst in the world and definitely did not want to present this dance to Him, no matter how excellent I was in worldly terms. Thus began a long process of laying down that which I had been taught from before I gave my life to Him and by prayerfully asking Him to truly resurrect this particular creative gift so that I could freely present my body to Him as a living sacrifice. I believe that the gifts of God are irrevocable but in reverence, I also believe, that they are purely reserved for His good pleasure (often we find in the Body that this is not so but that is another subject for another time). Therefore these creative gifts require a radical change that only He can bring forth as we willingly lay down our gifts, our agenda and our fame and replace them with His gifts, His agenda and His fame.

This began a long and costly road in my exploration of how to stay in His Presence when the whole world and many times the Church, would rather have me go and do instead of stay and be. Afterall I believe God called us human beings not human doings.

As we explore further I pray you will have the foresight to remember that whatever you read will activate something in you. It may touch things that have been hidden in your own walk and bring things to the surface that perhaps you did not know were there or simply did not want to address. It also may bring up old wounds and rejection as I believe the Lord gives His children reading material to have His Word go forth to accomplish all that it is sent forth to do and does not return to Him void. I have asked that Holy Spirit lead and guide me in this series of articles therefore I know that He will do a good work in those who take time to read, meditate and glean from it's pages. I also believe that as you apply these encouragements to your own life that He will heal and deliver you and bring a freedom into your walk that will bring much joy.

This is the introduction to this series as the exploration to the prophetic and spontaneous worship of the Lord is indeed a deep and wonderous adventure. Therefore I will leave you now to ponder on why you would want to go on this journey with me and pray that you will seek the Lord with all your heart over the next day or so to receive from Him your own personal revelation as this journey unfolds.

May Yeshua bless you and draw you ever closer into His Presence.
