Interesting interpretations of falling in dreams. Oddly, I've learned to "fly" in my dreams and just do that when falling happens. I wonder what the interpretation of that is? Voting this Up and Useful.

I love flying dreams... My falling type dream is one where I am driving up a very steep hill that keeps getting steeper and steeper until I am sure the car is going to fall off backwards. Oh! That gave me a shiver just thinking about it. Have you heard this dream before?

Great job on discussing many common meanings to falling dreams. As you say, each dreamer must examine their own life situation to determine what it means to them.

I love dream interpretation because it helps one learn things they may not have been consciously aware of so that they can address that particular issue in their lives.

Am interested in reading more hubs on this topic. I like your extensive knowledge of symbols.

I definitely have had falling dreams during times of stress and insecurity.

Voted up, useful and interesting.

Instead of falling, I find myself on the edge of a tall building looking down and being terrified of the fall. Horrible feeling. I'm so happy when I wake up from a dream like that. Interesting hub, voted up :)

I feel tired after dreaming all night.

thelyricwriter profile image

thelyricwriter 4 years ago from West Virginia Author

Poyoro, this makes sense. When you are dreaming, the brain sees it as reality, therefore it is working. If you are dreaming all night, your brain is active. I would think it would make you feel tired cause the brain is not fully rested. I may be wrong, but I believe this to be true. Not 100% sure.

This may be a bit off the topic, but I dreamt that I gave birth to a child (the whole process of giving birth, I mean), and felt pretty surprised and uneasy about what had been happening. Any ideas about the possible meaning?

I used to fall in my dreams quite commonly, after reading this everything makes sense. I was at a bad point in my life, but once I took control, I was able to fly in my dreams and break out of the falling sensation. Great Hub!

*Jasmine, let me get my book out and I will let you know. Wow, very interesting. Ok, this can mean that you are giving birth to a new idea or a new project. It may refer to something new in your life, whatever it may be. It can also represent that you want to have a baby or you long for that situation, long to be a mother. Somewhere in your life, new beginnings shall arise.

*Ethan, thanks for taking the time to read this article. Many people feel that dreams don't mean anything, but I believe that they do. This explains everything. Falling dreams symbolize what you were going through. So glad you see that dreams do have meaning and that you are out of your trouble:)

I'd like to have children some day, but not any time soon - so, that wasn't it. However, there is a new idea (a project) I'm working on; hopefully it will develop as planned and bring many benefits. Thanks for your answer!

That may be it Jasmine. It would appear that this new idea or project is going to bring positive attributes to your life. I hope it does, I truly do. I believe your idea will do wonders for you:)

I do, too :) Last night I bought so many books in my dream and I was sorry to wake up in the morning - I'm a total bibliophile, love books, reading, collecting quotes and writing. I sure hope the other dream is followed up by this one. Let's think pink! Thanks for the nice wishes :)

So, what does it mean when you fell in a sleep but feel secure and reach the ground safely ?

thelyricwriter profile image

thelyricwriter 3 years ago from West Virginia Author

Dreamer, thanks for the comment. This dream could suggest that everything in your waking life is falling into place. This means that you are in control of your emotions and feelings, not others. It can symbolize your self-control in life or a recent decision. Do you recall seeing other symbols or elements in your dream? Was it a fast decent or a slow fall?

I had a dream my baby fell from like some sort of warehouse through a hole. Fell onto the bottom floor super hard and it was a very long ways down. I couldn't get to him for some reason i was moving so slow but somehow i saw his fall and landing he wastrying to cry but couldn't breathe from such a hard hit to the ground, what could this possibly mean? I am so scared!

my dream was that I was falling for ever, everything was black, I could not see anything just the falling sensasion. I felt, however, secure, I knew that everything would be ok. That it was ok to fall even though I did not like the sensation at all. But thing were going to be Ok. I never woke up from this dream, I just transition to some other dream that I do not remember as I as falling. I never touch the ground. What is the meaning of this?
