The Way of Four Soldiers
Which Soldier Are You?
Four Soldiers went their way
On one sunny beautiful day,
But separate ways they went
To find their life's fortune,
For they received four different orders;
So went the first to his country to defend,
As a gunner he became;
Wearing the colors of battle,
With his heart beating fierce
To defend his homeland,
He provided safety from an enemy.
The second went to fight famine
Poverty disease and distress,
And of relieving human suffering,
Rendering aid to every land;
From his heart and his resources,
He brought hope to the helpless.
The third soldier went out into the universe to explore,
To find new methods for man to save;
By examining the evidence he sought
To find answers not ever found before;
Fighting to save the earth and skies,
For the uncertain future of mankind.
But then went the last Soldier
with great and deeper insight,
And his was the lost souls plight,
Into Gods word he projected his heart,
To fight against the enemy of life;
To save from hell's death and its plight:
He was a soldier of Calvary’s Cross.
All of these were of worthy cause,
For life and living must be done;
But three Soldiers had only their earthly reward
While the fourth sought to save them;
Could he show them how to find
Eternal Life through Jesus Our Lord?
Fight the good fight of faith and find,
That all must struggle with sorrows,
This is the grief and plight of all humans;
But nothing mattered more to soldier number four
Than defeating the enemy of the soul;
while giving allegiance to Jehovah-Gods armies.
So Work and perform your best on everything you do,
Feed the hungry and help the helpless,
Provide medical relief and knowledge
to the illiterate; help save the resources if you will,
but never, never forget your purpose;
As called of God to be his soldier!
Any of these soldiers you can possibly become,
Yet still consider within your heart,
That whatever else you strive to be,
In life and science, in love or perhaps in war,
As a soldier within your heart
Resolve to be another "Soldier Number Four".
