GOD! Creator of science!
Man and creation verses God and creation.
Mankind throughout the centuries have introduced new technology, produced new methods of healing, and made great scientific advancements to increase our knowledge and improve standards of living. These achievements have produced a worldwide admiration towards human achievement, so much so that the majority of the world population have turned to mankind to meet all of their requirements. Hence we have the massive apostasy (turning away from God) that has increased over the past 100 years or more.
People have decided there is no need for God in their lives anymore because mankind has managed to sort things out for themselves.
God intended for us to be creative - he gave us the gift of creativity, however there is a limit to that. For example when we start trying to override God, such as in the example of the Tower of Babel (Genesis 11:3). He brings down his punishment to remind us that he is still around and still the Almighty creator and there can be no other!
Where does science stand in this? Science has reached a level whereby attempts are being made again to try to supersede God. Scientists have introduced cloning and other methods for the preservation of life - to try to supersede God's gift of immortality. They have also produced artificial methods for the reproduction of life as a way of producing their own species of Mankind rather than God's 'natural born' from the descendancy of Adam and Eve. There are many things scientists are attempting to do to supersede God which would take too long to write about here.
I would like to take the reader back to the origin of invention, how does it arrive?
If we think about the human brain, its intricate function, the way it works to control the action's, behavior and systems of the body and how it receives and carries messages throughout the body it is in itself a testimony to God's ability as the Almighty Creator.
There have been many debates regarding the mind. Many scholars have theorised about the mind, some say it is the soul and separate from the brain, others say the brain produces thought through physiological means therefore the mind is part of the brains function.
If we think about the human brain, the way it works like a computer (a created machine) we can see that a human brain is something that had to be created by a super genius mind!
The physiology of the brain is such that messages are received and sent throughout the body to instruct the body to perform certain tasks. The body also receives via sensors, the external environment and reacts to it. For example the body will sense the temperature around it and adjust accordingly- if it is too hot the body starts the sweating process which is a cooling system of the body. So each individual receives messages internally and externally and the brain acts on these messages.
Now let us go deeper into this.
Have you ever been in a situation whereby you heard a voice and looked around to see who spoke to you and found no one there? Have you ever had a thought just pop into your head when you was in the middle of an unrelated task? What causes these?
To help us further here are some scriptures that indicate the function of the mind. Some of the scriptures demonstrate how God is involved in the creation of the mind, he is also able to intervene in our minds in a positive or negative way. We also have choices regarding our thoughts and therefore we also are in control of our minds.
This verse indicates what God would do to someone who commits the ultimate sin of rebellion against him. God puts rebellion on the same level as witchcraft!
"The Lord will afflict you with madness, blindness and confusion of mind." Deuteronomy 28:28
28: 65 " The Lord will give you an anxious mind, eyes weary with longing, and a despairing heart. you will live in constant suspense, filled with dread both day and night, never sure of your life." The above scripture was written to those who are rebellious against the Lord and is still applicable to the rebellious people today. It demonstrates that our creator God has the ability to effect our minds. If this is so he must also be able to effect our minds in a positive way, an example of this is below.
1 Samuel 2:35 "I will raise up for myself a faithful priest, who will do according to what is in my heart and mind. I will firmly establish his house, and he will minister before my anointed one always."
God, in this scripture is able to claim is own people and place a faithful heart and mind in them. Again this is seen with King Solomon.
1 Chronicles 28: 9 "...my son Solomon, acknowledge the God of your father and serve him with wholehearted devotion and with a willing mind, for the Lord searches every heart and understands every motive behind the thoughts. If you seek him, he will be found by you; but if you forsake him, he will reject you for ever."
This verse tells us that we also have freedom of choice - to have a righteous mind or an unrighteous mind and this links with the heart.
Romans 1: 28 " ...since they did not think it worth while to retain the knowledge of God, he gave them over to a depraved mind, to do what ought not to be done. They have become filled with every kind of wickedness, evil, greed and depravity. They are full of envy, murder, strife, deceit and malice. They are gossips, slanderers, God-haters, insolent, arrogant and boastful; they invent ways of doing evil: they disobey their parents; they are senseless, faithless, heartless, ruthless. Although they know God's righteous decree that those who do such things deserve death, they not only continue to do these very things but also approve of those who practice them."
The above is an example of a rebellious mind, a person who commits the list of sins deliberately and without conscience knowing these things grieve God! And the sinful mind ends up without eternal life.
"Roman 8:6 "The mind of sinful man is death. " 8:7 the sinful mind is hostile to God."
But in the next verse it states that the mind that is controlled by the spirit is life and peace.
Romans 8:6 "The mind controlled by the spirit is life and peace." Romans 12:2 "be transformed by the renewing of your mind."
The spirit is significant when it comes to controlling and using the mind.
Philippians 3:19 " Many live as enemies of the cross of Christ. Their destiny is destruction, their god is their stomach, and their glory is in their shame. Their mind is on earthly things."
There are scriptures throughout the Bible that state God is able to close a person's mind so that they are unable to understand scriptures. In the same way He can also open people's minds to understand scripture!
We also have scriptures that state the spirit is connected to the activities of the mind.
Rom 8:5 " Those who live according to the sinful nature have their minds set on what that nature desires; but those who live in accordance with the spirit have their minds set on what the spirit desires."
" The body is a unit, though it is made up of many parts; ...they form one body. So it is with Christ. For we were all baptised by one spirit into one body..."
This verse speaks literally of the body but also refers to the spiritual body of Christ - His people! It tells us that the spirit is very important in order to function as Christ's body of people. It also tells us there is only one spiritual baptism.
To explain this further it is necessary to understand that God fills His chosen people with the Spirit, he also places the spirit on them. There are many scriptures throughout the old and new testament to demonstrate this and a Bible concordance would provide this information.
The following scriptures are God's spirit placed on his people:
Exodus 31: 3 "...I have filled him with the Spirit of God"
Numbers 11:25 "When the Spirit rested on them"
Judges 13: 25 " ...the spirit of the Lord began to stir him"
Judges 14: 19 "Spirit of the Lord came upon him in power"
Job 32: 8 But it is the Spirit in a man, the breath of the Almighty, that gives him understanding.
Yeshua on the cross says the following in PSALM 31:5, " Into your hands I commit my spirit" (The psalm was spoken by King David but he is a pattern of Yeshua - a foreshadow of the saviour - Christ.)
In psalm 104:30, " When you send your spirit, they are created", The people are created by God's breath (the spirit).
Isaiah 63:10 " they rebelled and grieved his Holy spirit.
In Matthew there are many references to the spirit of God. Yeshua himself had the spirit of God descending on him like a dove. Then he was led by the spirit into the desert.
To sum up then:
The mind and spirit are relevant to the way the human being performs tasks, experience life, behave and make decisions and it depends on whether God intervenes to assist with these tasks etc or not. We have established that God is able to put understanding into a mind or remove understanding. If this is so then we have to accept that he can also control what thoughts enter our mind. Following on from this we can then conclude that mankind is not always functioning in his own mind but may be influenced by thoughts from the Almighty.
(NOTE: God alone is able to enter the mind of man and influence thoughts - he may do this by an internal audible voice, by visions or dreams. However, satan, demons etc do not have the ability to speak internally to us, they can only access our thoughts with an external audible voice!)
Let us return to the scientist! People like Einstein and Newton were great Jewish discoverers?
Does it not seem reasonable that God would work in such minds to advance our understanding! But what about the mind of Judas or Hitler? We tend to think that this might be the devils work. But that is not necessarily the case! We have seen that God is absent from the mind of those who do and think evil, they are left to their own devices and therefore perform evil!
When we realise that God places inventions in the minds of chosen people we can see that mankind invented nothing, the innovation or invention was placed there for man to use. Therefore, humans can not claim credit for anything that we do, because it all came from the great inventor - The Almighty Creator God!

I was asked this very interesting question and before it can be answered we need to look at the whole picture. The whole of Biblical and historical records testify to many great biblical men who performed uniquely...
Proof that Christ is the Messiah to come! He was written about in great detail throughout Old and New Testaments! He spoke in the Psalms of his 'future' suffering as the slaughtered 'rejected' lamb!
Does salvation mean also eternal life? Is the word salvation misunderstood? Is eternal life different to salvation? If so, how does it differ? What is the implication or consequences of this?
