God Has A Plan For You
Genesis 9:12~15
In the Bible we learn about a man named Noah that lived when a great flood covered the earth. Because God wanted to protect Noah and his family, He told him to build and ark. During the flood they were to live in the ark and be safe. Little did they know but the ark was to be their home for one year and ten days. How refreshing it must have been when they could finally lave the ark and begin their lives all over again. After Noah and his family left the ark three things happened:
1.) They worshiped God.
2.) God blessed their family.
3.) God made a covenant with Noah's family and the creatures of the earth.
God wants to make a covenant (agreement) with you to give you a meaningful life through faith in Jesus Christ.
God Invites You To Know Him
Genesis 9:20 ~ Then Noah built an alter to the Lord and, taking some of all the clean animals and clean birds, he sacrificed burnt offerings on it.
A.) God told Noah that He wouldn't destroy and judge the earth with a flood.
B.) God told Noah to count on a food supply, changing seasons and day followed by night.
God is faithful. He has a source of supply. He wants us to know that He provides for our lives.
Things to think about:
- God has a plan for your life.
- As sure as the sun will come up tomorrow, God wants to provide for you.
God Wants To Bless You
Genesis 9:1 ~ Then God blessed Noah and his sons, saying to them, "Be fruitful and increase in number and fill the earth."
A.) God told Noah that living creatures would fear people.
B.) God told people to eat from the plants and living creatures.
C.) God taught the sanctity of human life.
Things to think about:
- God wants to show us how to care for our possessions and planet.
- God wants to help us with healthy eating.
- God wants to teach us how to value the life of others.
God Offers You A Covenant Relationship
Genesis 9:8-11 ~ v.8 Then God said to Noah and to his sons with him: v.9 I now establish my covenant with you and with your descendants after you. v.10 And with every living creature that was with you ~ the birds, the livestock and all the wild animals, all those that came out of the ark with you ~ every living creature on earth. v.11 I establish m covenant with you: Never again will all life be cut off by the waters of a flood never again will there be a flood to destroy the earth.
A.) God put a rainbow in the sky as a sign of His covenant with Noah.
B.) God repeated Himself three more times to assure Noah of the covenant.
C.) God has given seven covenants in the Bible.
1.) Adamic ~ Adam and Eve could live in the garden as long as they didn't eat the forbidden fruit.
2.) Noahic ~ God would not destroy the earth by flood. He also established the changing seasons, sowing and reaping and day and night.
3.) Abrahamic ~ God gave Palestine to Israel.
4.) Mosaic ~ God gave Israel His favor as they kept the law.
5.) Levitic ~ The priesthood would remain in their tribe as they were faithful to God.
6.) Davidic ~ The kingdom and the throne would be held through his lineage.
7.) Messianic ~ God would make a new covenant and write His law into our hearts.
Things to think about:
- God is faithful to His agreements with people.
- God offers His Promises so that we can receive His answers.
- All of us are invited to make a covenant with God through faith in Jesus Christ.
Application for our lives:
- Would you make an agreement with God today to be a faithful follower of Jesus Christ?
- Would you make an agreement with God today for you and your household to follow Jesus Christ?
God does not want us to wonder if He will take care of us. He promised He would.
