God Speaks in Mysterious Ways: Are You Ready to Listen?

Updated on September 10, 2012

Before falling asleep one night, I asked God for a specific blessing in my life. I also asked Him to bless me with an answer on what I needed to do in order to receive the blessing. It didn’t matter if the answer came in a dream or any other way He decided to answer me. I just needed a solid answer.

The next day, I was walking into a store and a Christian couple stopped and asked me if I needed prayer. At first, I was kind of shocked. For a moment, I thought about all the people that would stare at us praying out in the open.

Then I thought about the prayer that I asked God for the previous night. So, I answered, “Yes, sure.” As they prayed for me, I asked God to grant my blessing.

There is extreme power when two or more people are gathered together for prayer. After the much needed prayer, the husband said that God led him to stop to give me a message. He said that God was going to bless my family and answer my prayers. Then he told me that God wanted me to “rest in Him” for all of my needs.

After receiving the message from God, I exchanged my worries and cares of this world to rest in Him. Within a few hours, God granted my blessing. Boy was I thankful!

How Do You Rest in God for Specific Answers?

You give up your doubts, worries and fears to trust in Him wholeheartedly. The following are a couple of Bible scriptures on how to rest in the Lord for answers.

"O taste and see that the Lord is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him." -Psalm 34:8

“Wait on the Lord: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the Lord.” -Psalm 27:14

“I have no one else like him, who will show genuine concern for your welfare.” -Philippians 2:20

“Be careful for nothing; but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.” -Philippians 4:6-7

Do you have a prayer request? Send me your prayer request and I’ll pray for you today.
