God and the Word.

Of YHWH/ JEHOVAH and Jesus His Son

Jehovah and Jesus.

John 7:17 (English Standard Version)

17(A) If anyone’s will is to do God’s[a] will,(B) he will know whether the teaching is from God or whether I(C) am speaking on my own authority.

  3. John 7:17 : John 5:30

Exodus 6:3 (American Standard Version)

3 and I appeared unto Abraham, unto Isaac, and unto Jacob, as God Almighty; but by my name Jehovah I was not known to them.

Psalm 83:18 (King James Version)

18That men may know that thou, whose name alone is JEHOVAH, art the most high over all the earth.

Worship belongs to God Almighty, JEHOVAH, alone.

Matthew 4:10 [NWT].

10 Then Jesus said to him: “Go away, Satan! For it is written, ‘It is Jehovah your God you must worship, and it is to him alone you must render sacred service.’”

Deuteronomy 6:13, 14. [NWT]

13 Jehovah your God you should fear, and him you should serve, and by his name you should swear. 14 YOU must not walk after other gods, any gods of the peoples who are all around YOU, 15 (for Jehovah your God in your midst is a God exacting exclusive devotion,) for fear the anger of Jehovah your God may blaze against you and he must annihilate you from off the surface of the ground.

Jesus Christ, as our appointed King, should be honored and respected as the King of kings and Lord of lords.

Jesus Christ, has been anointed to be King over earth, indeed the prophecies point to his assignment from God himself.

At Luke 1:31-33 we read: and, look! you will conceive in your womb and give birth to a son, and you are to call his name Jesus. This one WILL be great and WILL be called Son of  the Most High; and JEHOVAH God WILL GIVE him the throne of David his father, and he WILL RULE as king OVER THE HOUSE OF Jacob, FOREVER, and there WILL be no end of his kingdom."  Compare with Daniel 7:13,14; 2:44; Isaiah 11: 1-9; Psalm 2:7,8.

Romans 1:1-4 read: Paul, a slave of Jesus Christ and called to be an apostle, separated to God's good news, which he promised aforetime through his PROPHETS in the HOLY SCRIPTURES concerning his Son, who sprang from the seed of David according to the FLESH, but who with power WAS DECLARED God's Son ACCORDING TO THE  SPIRIT of holiness by means of a resurrection from the dead- yes, Jesus Christ our Lord,.......

Philippians 2:5- 11 say: Keep this mental attitude in you that was also in Christ Jesus, who, although he was EXISTING in God's form, gave NO CONSIDERATION to a SEIZURE, namely, that he should be EQUAL TO God. No, but he EMPTIED himself  and took a slave's form and came to be in the LIKENESS of men. More than that, when  he FOUND himself in fashion as a man, he HUMBLED himself and became obedient  AS FAR AS death, yes, death on a torture stake.

For this VERY REASON also God EXALTED him to a SUPERIOR POSITION and kindly GAVE him the name that is above every [other] name, so that in the name of Jesus EVERY knee should bend of those in heaven and those on earth and those under the ground, and every tongue should openly acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord to the glory of God the Father.

It is PROPER for ALL to honor and respect the appointed King of God. Let us take a glance at honor showed to king David.

2 Samuel 9:6 (King James Version)

King James Version (KJV)

6Now when Mephibosheth, the son of Jonathan, the son of Saul, was come unto David, he fell on his face, and did reverence. And David said, Mephibosheth. And he answered, Behold thy servant!

2 Samuel 9:6 (Darby Translation)

6And Mephibosheth, the son of Jonathan, the son of Saul, came to David, and fell on his face and did obeisance. And David said, Mephibosheth. And he said, Behold thy servant!

Jesus Christ, is FAR SUPERIOR to king David.

Now while the Pharisees were gathered together Jesus asked them: "What do you think about the Christ? Whose son is he?" They said to him: "David's" He said to them: "How, then, is it that David by inspiration calls him 'Lord,' saying, 'Jehovah said to my Lord: "Sit at my right hand until I put your enemies beneath your feet"? If, therefore, David calls him 'Lord,' how is he his son? And nobody was able to say a word in reply to him, nor did anyone dare from that day on to question  him further.

Matthew 22: 41 – 46

Jesus Christ, is also, High Priest to God, and his LIFE was sacrificed to atone for Adam’s indiscretion.

Christ, appointed King and High Priest

Jehovah has sworn (and he will feel no regret): "You are a priest to time indefinite

According to the manner of Mel-chiz'e-dek!"

Psalm 110:4 ... where a forerunner has entered in our behalf, Jesus, who has become a high priest according to the manner of Mel-chiz'e-dek forever.

Hebrews 6:20

The utterance of Jehovah to my Lord is:

"Sit at my right hand Until I place your enemies as a stool for your feet.

Psalm 110: 1.

Now as to the things being discussed this is the main point: We have such a high priest as this, and he has SAT DOWN AT THE RIGHT HAND of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens, a public servant of the holy place and of the true tent, which Jehovah put up, and not man.

Hebrews 8: 1, 2.

Surely, a High Priest is inferior to God, whom he serves.

Psalm 45:6-7 (Amplified Bible)

6Your throne, O God, is forever and ever; the scepter of righteousness is the scepter of Your kingdom.

7You love righteousness, uprightness, and right standing with God and hate wickedness; therefore God, Your God, has anointed You with the oil of gladness above Your fellows.(A)

   Hebrews 1:8

New Century Version (NCV)

But God said this about his Son:
"God, your throne will last forever and ever.
You will rule your kingdom with fairness.

Note please that the Scripture above agrees with the rendering from the New World Translation i.e. God, is your throne…….

Deuteronomy 4:2 (New Century Version)

2 Don't add to these commands, and don't leave anything out, but obey the commands of the Lord your God that I give you.

Isaiah 28:9; Isaiah 28:10 (King James Version)

King James Version (KJV)

Isaiah 28:9

9Whom shall he teach knowledge? and whom shall he make to understand doctrine? them that are weaned from the milk, and drawn from the breasts.

10For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little:

English Standard Version (ESV)

Isaiah 28:9

Listen to this passage

9(A) "To whom will he teach knowledge,
and to whom will he explain the message?
Those who are weaned from the milk,
   those taken from the breast?

Cross references:

A.   Isaiah 28:9 : Jer 6:10

Jeremiah 6:10 (English Standard Version)

A) To whom shall I speak and give warning,
   that they may hear?
(B) Behold, their ears are uncircumcised,
   (C) they cannot listen;
behold,(D) the word of the LORD is to them an object of scorn;
they take no pleasure in it.

B.   Jeremiah 6:10 : Exodus 6:12; Acts 7:51

C.   Jeremiah 6:10 : Jeremiah 7:26

D.  Jeremiah 6:10 : Jeremiah 20:8

Please note, the words of Jesus, the Christ [Messiah] ;

  John 12:49 (King James Version)

49For I have not spoken of myself; but the Father which sent me, he gave me a commandment, what I should say, and what I should speak.

John 14:28 (King James Version)

28Ye have heard how I said unto you, I go away, and come again unto you. If ye loved me, ye would rejoice, because I said, I go unto the Father: for my Father is greater than I.

John 20:17 (King James Version)

17Jesus saith unto her, Touch me not; for I am not yet ascended to my Father: but go to my brethren, and say unto them, I ascend unto my Father, and your Father; and to my God, and your God.

John 8:42 (King James Version)

42Jesus said unto them, If God were your Father, ye would love me: for I proceeded forth and came from God; neither came I of myself, but he sent me.

John 10:34 (King James Version)

34Jesus answered them, Is it not written in your law, I said, Ye are gods?

John 10:35 (King James Version)

 35If he called them gods, unto whom the word of God came, and the scripture cannot be broken;

John 10:36 (King James Version)

36Say ye of him, whom the Father hath sanctified, and sent into the world, Thou blasphemest; because I said, I am the Son of God.

John 5:30 (King James Version)

30I can of mine own self do nothing: as I hear, I judge: and my judgment is just; because I seek not mine own will, but the will of the Father which hath sent me.

Jesus Christ was indeed, The Prophet.

The Muslims claim that the prophet mentioned by Moses at Deuteronomy refers to Muhammad,

a strictly Muslim prophet. Do the FACTS support this claim?

Deuteronomy 18:18 says: A prophet I shall raise up for them from the midst of their brothers,

like you, and I shall indeed put my words in his mouth, and he will certainly speak to them ALL

THAT I SHALL COMMAND HIM TO.

Verse 19 says: And it must occur that the man who WILL NOT LISTEN TO MY WORDS

THAT HE WILL SPEAK IN MY NAME, I SHALL MYSELF REQUIRE AN

ACCOUNT FROM HIM.

Jesus, the Messiah, was "The Prophet," the long-awaited one foretold by Moses. (John 1:19-21,

25-27; 6:14; 7:40; Deuteronomy 18:18, 19; Acts 3:19-26). His ABILITY TO PERFORM POWERFUL WORKS and to DISCERN matters in a way BEYOND the ordinary caused others

to recognize him as a prophet (Luke 7:14-16; John 4:16-19; compare 2 Kings 6:12). More

than all others he was one in God's "intimate group." (Jeremiah 23:18; John 1:18; 5:36; 8:42). He regularly quoted earlier prophets as testifying to his divine commission and office.

(Matthew 12:39, 40; 21:42; Luke 4:18-21; 7:27; 24:25-27, 44; John 15:25)

He foretold the manner of his own betrayal and death, that as a prophet he would die at Jerusalem, "the killer of the prophets," that his disciples would abandon him, that Peter

would deny him three times, that he would be resurrected on the third day- many of these prophecies being based on earlier prophecies in the Hebrew Scriptures. (Luke 13:33, 34; Matthew 20:17-19; 26:20-25, 31-34) Beyond this, he foretold the DESTRUCTION of JERUSALEM and ITS TEMPLE. (Luke 19:41-44; 21:5-24 also Matthew 24 and Mark 13) The precise fulfillment of all of these within the life of those hearing him gave SOLID

BASIS FOR FAITH AND CONVICTION AS TO the fulfillment of his prophesies

relating to his presence. Compare Matthew 24; Mark 13; Luke 21.

John 1: 19 reads: Now this is the witness of John when the Jews sent forth priests and Levites

from Jerusalem to him to ask him: "Who are you?"

Subsequently John denied being 1. Christ 2. Elijah 3. The Prophet.

The distinction made above between Christ and The Prophet is erroneous since in reality Jesus is the

Christ [or Messiah] [John 1:33, 34] and the Prophet [Acts 3:22]. The error lies with THOSE who

questioned SINCE if they were interpreting Scriptures correctly to begin with, would NOT

have made a distinction, and would IDENTIFY CORRECTLY the Messiah or Christ.

John 1: 19 reads: Now this is the witness of John when the Jews sent

forth priests and Levites from Jerusalem to him to ask him: "Who are

you?"

Subsequently John denied being 1. Christ 2. Elijah 3. The Prophet.

The distinction made above between Christ and The Prophet is erroneous

since in reality Jesus is the Christ [or Messiah] [John 1:33, 34] and the

Prophet [Acts 3:22]. The error lies with THOSE who questioned SINCE

if they were interpreting Scriptures correctly to begin with, would NOT

have made a distinction, and would IDENTIFY CORRECTLY the

Messiah or Christ.

John 5:33 says: You have dispatched men to John, and he has borne

witness to the truth.

John 5:34 says: However, I do not accept the witness from man, but I

say these things that you may be saved.

Verse 36 of John 5 reads: But I have the witness greater than that of John,

for the very works that my Father assigned me to accomplish, the works themselves that I am doing, bear witness about me that the Father dispatched me.

Verse 46 of John 5 reads: In fact, if you believed Moses you would

believe me, for

that one wrote about me. [Deuteronomy 18:18, Acts 3:22].

Similarly, the Jews put their own spin on the statement Jesus made stating that he was the Son of God.

John 5:18 reads: On this account, indeed, the Jews began seeking all the

more to kill him, because not only was he breaking the Sabbath but he

was also calling God his own Father

making himself equal to God. [according to the erroneous Jews].

John 6:38 reads: because I have come down from heaven to do, not my

will, but the will of him that sent me.

Verse 40 of John 6 says: For this is the will of my Father, that everyone

that beholds the Son and exercises faith in him should have everlasting life, and I will resurrect him at the last day.

Almighty God's Holy Writings [Bible] records for us at John 6:44:

No man can come to me unless the Father, who SENT me, DRAWS

him; and I will resurrect him at the LAST DAY.

Verse 45 says: It is WRITTEN in the Prophets, 'And they WILL BE

TAUGHT by Jehovah.' Jeremiah 31:31-34

EVERYONE that has HEARD from the Father and has LEARNED

comes to me.

John 6:46 reads: Not that any man has seen the Father, except he who is

from God; this one has seen the Father.

John 6:63: It is the spirit that is life-giving; the flesh has no use at all.

The sayings that I have spoken to you are spirit and are life.
