Have our bodies lost touch with our inner spirit?
Have you ever wondered how people walk around today, in the world and appear so... lifeless? I have pondered on it for a few years. I see people, both happy and sad, angry and joyful, living their lives yet not really living. I know this may not make any sense but to me, the only people who truly live, live in the spirit, not the body. What I mean by that is when a person is living in the body, they are bound. They see one way and don't explore others. They often go based on knowledge of other people but not the knowledge of their own hearts. Religion is a great example of that. While I both love and believe in God and yes, even Jesus Christ... I absolutely HATE religion because it is nothing more then a cult that controls people. I don't even consider myself to have one. While I will say I am a Christian, to me, that's not at all a religion. The teachings of the Christ (Jesus! because their were many) resonate with me. I feel in my heart they are right so I go with them. Now I am not saying I am right in my beliefs and others are wrong. That is merely what my heart feels to be true. Now, for all I know, there are many paths to God. All spirituality has to do with some form of God. My God is the God that created everything we see. He is the Alpha and Omega. Now, while I don't have any problem with the bible (The one the Christians use) I do have problems with how people use it. It is there as a guild. The stories of the bible are merely just that, stories. They are they to show us miracles, tribulations, good, and evil. We are not to base our own existence on them stories, but rather embrace them to help us learn what life is. Many people have problems with the bible, however. Many people will say it was written by man there for who knows if what is in there even happened. I am one to believe that in order to fully live in the spirit we have to believe in something and that something is God. While we don't need a book to live by, we do need a guild that helps our spirits grow. I chose the bible, because like I said, my heart resonates with it. I will never say that is the only path to God, because I am not God and He only knows. People need to realize that before the bible was around, the people that walked the earth listened to their hearts and seeked better understanding of God. There was no scripture, no wisdom on pages, and no letter from God. There was simply God Himself. Without the bible, a persons heart is able to decipher what is evil and what is not. No matter if you believe in God or not, we all know killing another human being is wrong. As we know to lie to one another is wrong as well. Before the bible, that's what people lived their lives off of. Their own hearts and God. We all know for every good there is an evil and God's counter part (since He is good) is none other then evil itself. Most give this evil a name. We can call it the devil, Satan, or even Lucifer but just because we give it a name doesn't mean anything. Evil will always be evil and in my own understanding I want to avoid it at all costs. If a person is going to read the bible and use it they need to realize what it is. It is not a book, or a fairytale, it is a guild. There is scientifically proof behind much of the bible's stories. Such as the story of Noah, the plagues of Egypt and the fact that a man named Jesus walked the earth. I will go into that further by saying, Jesus is simply the name I use for the son of God. He has many names but they all mean one thing. People use to be named based on the meaning behind the name. My name would not have been Brittany for the meaning of Brittany is "from or of Britain". If you sit by yourself and just sit in the spirit, not in the body, you will be able to feel many things. You will feel that there is more to life then what can be seen. You will then start to explore where you came from and what your own purpose is. We all have a natural God given talent. Some people are good with words, good with their hands or just have a natural ability to bring enjoyment to people. I think our own purpose lies in our gift. Some people only have one gift and may have to learn other trades to enjoy while some people have many gifts. Now you may ask, how do I know how to do this?
Well, how does a singer know how to sing? How does an artist know how to paint? How does an athlete know how to run fast and jump high? How do some people know how to please others?
They all just do! They do because that's what God gifted them with. With that talent, or gift, they should use it to live a life of meaning and of goodness. If your gift, for example, is singing... To live a good life, you would bring joy to people using your voice. That's just one example.
Now, to change the subject back on track, Has our bodies lost touch with our inner spirit? Well, I believe they have. We are not meant to live purely on a physical level, but a spiritual one as well. I can go onto say that we should live more so on a spiritual level then a physical one. If more people lived in the spirit, not in the flesh, they would be open to so much! Your eyes would then be able to see things you never have seen before. You will want knowledge of subjects that you never even cared to know of! You will begin to enjoy the smallest of things the world (not the people) can offer. You will find beauty in the most average things.
I noticed since I began living more in the spirit, I better understand myself and I am seeking God more now than ever. I will find joy in the smallest things, such as the birds chirping or a bright sunny summer day. I enjoy the sun and love to lay in it, sometimes for hours. I am able to get in touch with my body and know what is good for it and what is not. My brain even works better when deciphering truth from lies. Most importantly, I learned to not only guard my heart and become stronger but I have learned to think with my heart as well. The mind will play tricks on people while the heart, is our pure form of connection to the spirit and to God.
