Hematite And Its Magical Properties
Hematite is one stone that can be easily recognized. If you look at the picture you'll probably recognize it as one you have seen before. I have a couple of them and I love them. They may not be my favorite but I do love how they look and I do like their properties. Like any other stone/crystal they do have magical associations. They can be placed in rituals/spells and can be used for healing.
Native American folklore actually brings up the belief that any war paint that was created from the Hematite stone would make one warrior invincible in war. However they are not the only ones that have used Hematite. The Egyptians used it to promote the formation of blood. Actually during the Middle Ages it was called The Blood Stone because any water that was used to polish the stone would turn red.
During the 18th and 19th centuries people would wear this as jewelry while they were mourning.
Hematite was called the blood stone for a good reason. For one of the healing properties of this stone includes the use of stabilizing the circulation of blood and combat hyperemia and embolism.
In the small intestine Hematite has been known to aid in absorbing Iron by doing so it improves the oxygen supply to the body.
When Hematite is placed near or around tumbled rock crystals this stone will release its negative energy and during this process will recharge with positive energy.
A very important note to know about this stone is that some people experience inflammation when their skin makes contact with this stone. It is important to test your skin before using this stone, especially as jewelry. Also know that if you already have an inflammation this stone can make it worse so do not use it if you do.
I am not a doctor so please see one prior to using this crystals to healing. If you'd prefer seeing a professional healer instead of a doctor that is fine. It is your choice.
This stone is best known as a grounding stone. It has a calming effect on people's minds. Altogether this may help keep someone focused and keep someone's mental state healthy. This stone may also help with math and thinking. It will help balance your mind, body and spirit connection.
Hematite has also been known to decrease negative energies. This is actually one of the main uses of this stone for me.
The element that is associated with Hematite is Fire. It is best for grounding, healing, and divination. The planet that is associated with this stone is considered to be Saturn. So when doing spell craft you may keep that in mind. It is a stone of Aquarius and Aries but is mostly assigned to Scorpio. If you are a Scorpio it is said that Hematite will protect you and also warn you of danger by changing temperatures.
The Chakra this stones is best for is the Root chakra.
So if you plan on working any spells for divination, healing, grounding, balancing your mind/body/spirit, or even to decrease negative energies then this stone is one that you may want to consider to use.
Crystals can be used for many purposes. Decorations, jewelry, magick, healing, the chakras, and meditation. The list can go on. They can be very useful and helpful to someone. Stones have helped me so much in my life and that is why I choose to collect them. Of course it helps that I love the differences they have.
Hematite is one of the first ones I came to learn about when I started to become interested in stones and crystals. I am proud to say my interest has not disappeared nor has it dwindled.
