Higher Than Our Ways - 13
There are occasions, due to the vagaries of life, when we begin to feel disconnected with reality; times when our hold on the ‘real’ seems tenuous at best. We may begin to question our purpose, or to question what is true. We may identify with Pontius Pilate when he asked Jesus, in John 18:38, “What is truth?”
Pilate was asking a fundamental philosophic question. Philosophers have thought long and hard about the nature of truth and reality. Some have never reached a reasonable conclusion; others have come to erroneous conclusions. But there is an answer to the question of truth.
Jesus taught, in John 14:6, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life.” Jesus declared that He was the foundation of all that is true.
When our efforts to reconnect self to reality fail, when reality and truth seem far away, and grabbing hold of truth seems slippery, look to Jesus. He is the foundation and author of truth. He can and will reestablish your foundation under you, renew your spirit, and set your feet on the rock of your salvation.
