Higher Than Our Ways - 10

This fact may seem unpalatable, but it is impossible for a human to find God on his own.

1 Cor 1:21- “…in the wisdom of God the world through its wisdom did not come to know God…”

Our human actions or abilities, whether spiritual, physical or emotional, are insufficient to comprehend God or approach His throne without help.

1 Cor 3:19- “the wisdom of this world is foolishness before God.”

The help that we need to find God comes from the Holy Spirit.

1 Corinthians 2:14- “But a natural man does not accept the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually appraised.”

Continuing 1 Corinthians 1:21- “…God was well-pleased through the foolishness of the message preached to save those who believe.”

As Christians, we are responsible to ‘preach’- share our faith and testimony- to those who haven’t heard the Gospel. Only when an unbeliever hears the message of the Gospel can the Holy Spirit perform His function of drawing the person to God’s throne.
