Horoscope Review: U.K.'s Russell Grant
Daily Advice from Great Britain
Russell Grant, British actor and TV personality, advertises himself as "the world's most loved astrologer." Daily, Grant writes a detailed full paragraph of advice for each Sun sign. This maximizes the chances that the issues and concerns he mentions will match yours. Mr. Grant broadly interprets astral conditions, giving not Sun-sign horoscopes but Sun-sign advice as clear and sensible as a British next-door neighbor's.
Ignore all the blinking ads and banner-headline marketing of "psychic" services at RussellGrant.com and access Grant's free daily horoscopes by scrolling down. Don't bother with the daily, weekly or monthly video horoscopes Grant advertises: I haven't been able to make them operate so I can see one! His written 'scopes, however, are cool. A sample: Aquarius, August 31, 2012:
"A cheque will finally arrive, allowing you to make a charitable donation. Your passionate commitment to a cause is very attractive. Don't be surprised if someone starts making flirtatious overtures. Beware of getting involved with somebody who wants you to finance their dreams. You deserve to be with someone who wants you, not your money. Hold out for a visionary who shares your ideals. If you already have a partner, you will receive a beautiful gift from them. Cherish this token."
Grant's daily forecasts, plus tomorrow's forecast, appear at the site 12House.com, and I will wade through it to get to tomorrow's forecast, which Grant's site doesn't offer. But RussellGrant.com has other treats:excellent gay horoscopes by Philip Garcia, updated every "fortnight" (two weeks), and horoscopes for women by Carole Sommerville, the "most loved" female astrologer. Hers are daily and therefore short and wispy.
I recommend Russell Grant's daily advice for usefulness, detail and the eerie way it has, over the years, matched up with my own life, What I dislike: the prominence of advertised "psychic" services -- astrology is a science that is taught and learned and has nothing to do with inborn psychic ability -- and those horrid little Sun-sign-specific animations endlessly looping to the right of each sign's daily scope, the Taurus animation being the worst.
