How God prepares and equips his people
PREPARATION COMES FROM THE LORD!
Many times, many Christians talk about problems as we face Giants, but today when I got up this morning, the Lord showed me some interesting points. First, we must identify the root of our problems. When wars are fought in the natural, one has to identify the enemy. Prayer is a battlefield, and in that field, we are either going to be in victory or defeat. I realize the importance of leaving your cares in the hands of the Lord, but Gods promises are different. The Bible says that all his promises are yea and amen. That tells me there is no excuse for defeat, only victory, because the word says we are more than conquerors. (II Cor 1:20 / Rom 8:37)
Are you ready to face your Lion?
VICTORY IN PRAYER
Sometimes, we reason- If God wants me to have victory,Why am I still sick? Others may ask -If God promises me that my bills are paid, Why am I in debt? There are many factors that explain this, but time does not allow me elaborate on this, but let's see an example that helps us understand how God thinks. If you read Exodus 3:17, God gave his people, the Jews, a land of milk and honey. Who were dwelling in the land at that time? The Canaanites, the Hittites, the Amorites, the Perizzite, the Hivite and the Jebusites. Nations who were not serving the Lord and committed abominations in the land. When the Jews reached the land, they saw the giants and were frightened. Folks, there are conditions in order for God to fulfill his end of the deal. The Jews had to possess the land. (Numbers 13:30) How do we possess the promises of God? Through confessing the word in prayer. (Mark 11:23) Confession brings possession. The word of God is like a sword used against the enemy, the world and sin.
Many will say-Yes, Pastor Santos, but these promises were given to the Jews and not for us. Brethren, we, who are cleansed by the blood of the lamb, being sons and daughters of God, should we not have a better covenant with better promises? (Hebrews 8:6). Yes, we do! Hallelujah! Praise the Lord! Lets talk again about the different categories of problems we must face. There are at least 3 categories of problems or testings from God. David, before he was king, had to face 3 categories of problems. God had a plan for him, but he had to go through the Lion,Bear and the Giant. Let's take a look at these three categories!
1- The LION
The Lion can be identified as Satan and what he brings, through the world and sin. The Bible says that Christ is the Lion of Judah and Satan tries to imitate God. He dresses like a Lion. (I Peter 5:8). Satan stirs up persecution against us in our families, friends, place of employment, etc. He wants us to destroy our families and our lives. Many times, we try to run from our problems, instead of facing them. David had a problem. A Lion came and stole a lamb from his flock. What did he do? Did he say, Well, it was Gods will for my life? I have a lamb missing, praise God? No, brethren, he did not say that. He went after the lion, rescued the lamb, grabbed the Lion by his beard and killed him. When was the last time you killed your Lion ? (I Samuel 17:34-37)
2- THE BEAR
The Bear can be identified, at least two ways. In the area of finances and in the form of difficult problems. We can learn from Wall Street in its spiritual applications. When the stock market is doing good, it is seen as a Bull Market. When it is going thru tough times, it is seen as a Bear market. I have heard people say of situations or problems like its a bear, meaning it is a hard or difficult one. Satan loves to attack the people of God in finances. But, God has his own stock market and it is bullish. (Mal 3:10). There are no bear markets in Gods economy. He is our provider. We must free ourselves from debt to be a blessing to our families, church and our surroundings. When was the last time you killed your bear?
3- The GIANT
This is when the Lord promotes you. David was a shepherd. A Shepherd was considered like a low paying job. But,God had a plan. Notice how God used David in his training of the Bear and the Lion. David learned his lesson. He trusted in the promises of the Lord and did not forget them when he approached his next obstacle. Consider what he said- "And the Philistine said to David, Come to me, and I will give thy flesh unto the fowls of the air, and to the beasts of the field.
Then said David to the Philistine, Thou comest to me with a sword, and with a spear, and with a shield: but I come to thee in the name of the LORD of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom thou hast defied.
This day will the LORD deliver thee into mine hand; and I will smite thee, and take thine head from thee; and I will give the carcases of the host of the Philistines this day unto the fowls of the air, and to the wild beasts of the earth; that all the earth may know that there is a God in Israel.
And all this assembly shall know that the LORD saveth not with sword and spear: for the battle is the LORD's, and he will give you into our hands." (I Samuel 17:44-47)
How will you fight the bear of financial oppression?
Summing it up!
Several points to ponder. Goliath said something to David. He said he would kill him. Your problems are saying something. They are talking to you, but you need to talk to them back with the word of God. David did, he faced his giant and said something. He said he would cut his head off? With what? For David only had a sling and 5 stones! He was confessing Gods word. The magic of thinking big did not start with Amway.God started it and he did not use magic, but it was his annointing that brought down his giant. David dared to dream big, took aim and brought down Goliath. Praise God!!! That is shouting ground, because if you knew what power is inside you, you would not be sitting down!! Confession brings forth possession and David was proof of it. This resulted in him being King and being blessed! To top it off, his family also enjoyed the fruits of his labor,as well as his nation. So, Brethren, do be afraid of life's testings. They are, only, designed to bring greater blessing and victory in our lives.Remember to the victor goes the spoils! God rewards faithfulness. Stay strong in the Lord and get ready to slay your Lions, Bears and Giants. God bless.
The Giant is laughing at you. Time to bring it down!
