How to find Happiness in Your Life

Happiness is a state of being that everyone is looking for. What is happiness exactly? Is it wealth, joy, and pleasure or something that we find on the inside? Happiness can be described differently by every person that you talk to. This is because everyone has their own idea of what will make them happy not how to be happy. You can be happy if you want to be and you do not need a million dollars for that to happen. All you have to do is choose to be regardless of current situations.

You Think You Can

Everyone has hundreds of thoughts every day and many don’t realize what they can do. Our thoughts are very powerful yet we cannot touch them but we still feel their affects. When you think very negative thoughts what happens? Negative things start to happen to you and you think more negative thoughts and it just turns into a downward spiral. Sometimes you catch yourself or a kind person comes along and puts you back on track and other times you lose your way completely.

So why not choose to be happy and think positive thoughts? Choosing and thinking positively is hard to do in our society. Trouble and strife surround us on a daily basis and it can bring us down. You will never be happy every second of the day but if you choose to have positive thoughts and continue to act happy then in time you will be. Be thankful for a bad experience, long lines, losses, and rude people and think positively what you can learn from them. Then you can be happy and thankful for the knowledge that you have gained.

How to Find It

Happiness is not something you can acquire from the outside but something you find while looking inside yourself. When you find happiness on the inside start to spread it among others. A kind gesture towards a complete stranger will help you be happy. This is because you have chosen to do something for an unselfish reason. Help someone with a flat tire instead of looking and passing by, offer up the couple bucks to the person short at a register, ask someone what is wrong when they look upset.

Kind gestures in turn provide positive thoughts that can be spread among others. Those positive thoughts help others choose to be happy (maybe subconsciously) and the cycle continues. What better way to help our race grow by choosing to be happy?

I don’t Know Everything

I do not claim to have all of the answers I am only sharing what I have learned throughout life. From what I have learned in martial arts, the people around me and books I have read I feel this is the path to happiness. Staying positive and giving others happiness is what makes you happy not the other way around. Do not be focused on yourself but on the people around you. There is too much negativity and hate around us so choose to be happy and positive.

Excellent hub on happiness. I agree with you entirely. For me, I too find that by being happy others tend to be happier around me and enjoy my company. I also like my along time too, especially when it's time to meditate. Take care. Voting up and interesting.

I agree with a lot of your ideas in this hub. I write about many of the same philosophies in my hubs about happiness, joy, positive thinking, and giving without expecting back. All these ideas, when put to work, really can make such a difference in one's life.

You think very much like I like to see and it is in this stage of life that I am constantly surrounding myself with like minded individuals.. it is a blessing that I have found something in this life that does make me happy. It is not materialistic at all but as you say it is a state of mind. I no longer have to try at it, I have always been an optimist so I think I had it automatically. Things go wrong. it's inevitable how you perceive and how you choose to act are going to affect dramatically how your emotions are. The one thing I find is it is good to let your self grieve or sulk for a short period of time, get it out of you and then start with getting yourself up and starting out a walk and slowly get yourself going and always know you are not going to let anything hold you down. I am talking from total experience because from the time I was a child until this stage in my life so many bad things have happened but my attitude will not be bitter and unhappy. I refuse to let that cantankerous attitude drag me down. Great hub.
