I Know a Little Secret (Poem)

Source

Forward: Life and Death

Three years ago on Good Friday my niece was born. As I sat in the hospital I marveled about the miracle of life. Yesterday, Good Friday, I sat in the same hospital--but this time in the ER with my dad. The doctors found he was having a heart failure episode. As I prayed for my father, I marveled once again at the miracle of life.

One cannot appreciate the full spectrum of life without admitting the role death plays in life. Looking at the reality of death can help us appreciate the time we have on this earth. We rarely know how many days we will get. We often don't know when a kiss or hug or stern word out the door will be our last. How much more would we value the life we have if we could remember it is a gift?

Broaden the perspective and we can see that eternity is life to the full. This life is but one speck of sand on the shore of eternity--yet this speck of time matters so much that it defines the direction in which we position ourselves for our eternal voyage. Sail North in this life and continue that course in the next. Sail South in this life and continue that course in the next.

Our life is our choice. How we live it is entirely up to us. Nobody else decides that. You have already begun your journey into eternity, for we all live in the "eternal now." I invite you to choose the life the you live. Don't get so busy and distracted that time passes by leaving you at the end of this adventure filled with old age and regret. It is never too late to start living a life with purpose, meaning, and choosing to give the best of yourself to that or those which are most significant.

This poem reflects the reason I live and will continue to live even when I die. This poem speaks of the joy I carry inside that ignites my passion for truth and love. It's message is why I celebrate the Easter Holiday--Resurrection Sunday. I pray for my dad in the hospital with hope because the grave is empty and my God is alive!!!

Gospel in a Poem

I know a little secret and I know that it is true.

I know a little secret and it’s meant for me and you.

It shouldn't be a secret but somehow over time,

You and I've forgotten what is yours and what is mine.

**************************************************************

It is the secret of the Garden—the Garden in our Heart.

It is the story of our history—before time tore it apart.

It is the secret of our freedom—the story of our cure.

It is the story from the arche—the story from “the before.”

**************************************************************

To us was given freedom—in a very special way.

To us was given freedom—to live in every day.

To each of us was given—a very special key.

To each of us was given—the gift of eternity.

**************************************************************

I know a little secret and I know that it is true.

I know a little secret and it’s meant for me and you.

It shouldn't be a secret but somehow over time,

Lies have filled our ears and sin has made us blind.

**************************************************************

It is the secret of a God-man—He came from up above.

It is the story of a Father—who sent His son in love.

It is the secret of a sacrifice—the story of Love’s heart.

It is the story of a broken body—that for us was torn apart.

**************************************************************

To us was given salvation—forgiveness from our sin.

To us was given wholeness—a new creation from within.

To each of us was given—a new mind and a new heart.

To each of us was given—a new life through Christ to start.

**************************************************************

I know a little secret and I know that it is true.

I know a little secret and it’s meant for me and you.

It shouldn't be a secret but somehow over time,

We began to seek and look for what is already yours and mine.

**************************************************************

It is the secret of a ransom—a price that was fully paid.

It is the story of a savior—whom through every life was saved.

It is the secret of a resurrection—the story of an empty grave.

It is the story of a risen body—and the inheritance that He gave.

**************************************************************

To us was given the Kingdom—we are citizens of the sky.

To us was given authority—to live and never die.

To each of us was given—a destiny upon this Earth.

To each of us was given—a power equal to our worth.

**************************************************************

-So when I shout from the rooftops and ask who wants to be free-

-And when I tell the good news that is for you and not just me-

-And when I boldly expose the nature of the enemy’s lies-

-And when you hear me praying and groaning with loud cries-

-And when you see me coming with the fruit of life upon my lips-

-And when you hear me offer life-saving freedom tips-

-And when I can’t be silent and I begin to shout-

-Remember what this little secret is really all about-

**************************************************************

Because I know a little secret and I know that it is true.

And I know it is a secret that is meant for me and you.

And it will no longer be a secret because now is the time

For us to take ahold of what is yours and what is mine.

Good morning--or good evening teacherjoe (depending on when you read this). Thank you! I appreciate your comment. If I knew how to write music, I might try to turn it into a song--but alas I write and don't play an instrument so it remains a poem. :-) Blessings to you!

Thanks MsDora! I appreciate the vote and the comment! You are right, it should not be a secret. In fact, a friend of mine liked this so much she wants to turn it into a video so that it won't be a secret. :-) If it works out, I'll have a video to add to the poem. Blessings to you!

There is a secret... Now ceased to be .

In your words shared : inspiration

For many ,- thus including me.

It's a story of salvation

A story of the Father's love

Offering His best as ransom:

Sending Jesus Christ from above

To make the way returning home,

By believing. What a story !

We praise Him, giving glory...

Thank you, my friend :

You earned my vote : HIGH END .
