I Was So Very Poor And Needy

I Was So Very Poor And Needy

I was sad and so very poor and I was needy,

There was not even one place to lay my head.

And with such great turmoil raged inside of me.

I felt that I was like one of the walking dead.

Then Jesus came to me in such gentle pity,

Whispering to me in His voice so very kind.

"Come unto me ,my child for you are weary,

Peaceful rest and Peace I will help you find."

Yes, I was so poor and my heart was needy,

Then Jesus saw the state that I was truly in.

He came to me with such a sweet solicitude

It was then He offered me a new life to begin..

How could I ever reject such a precious promise ?

It was then I opened the door to my heart wide,

And Jesus came in quickly and He came sweetly

It was then with great thankfulness that I cried.

Have you ever been poor and are you needy?

Would you peace and happiness try to find?

Jesus and His promise is true, now repenting

You will find His Love is ever faithful ,ever kind!

This is one on my really older poems that

I have been sorting through and I still have

many to go through .I won't put them all on

at once, I will try to put them on over a

period of time .You are probably glad to hear

that.I don't blame you I would feel that way ,too.

I hope to be doing better in the coming days.

Hello Brenda , thank you for your comment, it seems like every time I put a poem on here and I think people won't even read it ,I am surprised ,I often get more comments than on others .God knows a lot more about this than I do . This was one that I wrote in 1969 and I edited it some ,I have many more to go ,so I hope you keep reading . Love, Clara

Yes,Karen ,Jesus is always there but there is coming a time that He won't be and woe to the ones who failed to answer His call! This is the day to come to Jesus, there may not be another day to accept His Precious Gift of Salvation. Love,Clara

Thank you ,Laurie,This was written in 1969 , that is a long time ,I had better go back through all of the old ones to see what He wants me to use. I did not realize that there was a reason why I had not put some of these poems out , I guess I finally am starting to get it. I guess I am just a slow learner, but God is here to show me what He wants done .I am so fortunate. Love, Clara

Rayne123 3 years ago

no you are not slow, your one of Gods chosen. You are doing it the exact way he wants, in the order he gives it to you.

trust me, a lot is about to be revealed and probably then will your poems even make more sense.

God may even tell you if you ask him

Love Laurie

Thank you ,MsDora, I am always glad to hear from you , I think there are many people i n this world today that are poor and needy but they don't call it that, I don't think that they really know their need is Jesus .Maybe they never learned of Jesus as a child or maybe they have just forgotten all that they knew about Him. Now is the time to go to Him , His arms are always open to you ,He won't scold you ,He will just Love you. You will wonder why you waited so long! Love , Clara

Yes, Karen, Time is short now but it is so hard to make people believe this life as it is now won't go on forever. The world is full of anti-Christs now ,how can we ever get to them? I guess we have to try one at a time and pray that we can get through to them. Love, clara

Thank you ,Laurie , I hope that I am doing exactly what God would have me do. I want to be in the center of God's Will always, at my age I do not want to ever change my course. I have come too far to ever change now!It is nice to even think that I might be one of His chosen. Thank you ,Laurie. Love ,Clara

I know what you are saying. I am about to embank on Gods promises into my new life.

Many of your poems are not only signs and messages to me but to others.

Its almost like God is speaking to me through you. I know you will know what I am talking about. I do wish God would tell you in a dream and actually say something direct.

thank you

Love Laurie

Laurie. I did not know that these poems are signs and messages to other people . I just know that I always write what I feel and sometimes I will write something and then I have to erase it and put something else in it's place .If that is God I do not know but I guess it could be .You feel that God is channeling His thoughts to you through me. That is an interesting thought,I never thought of that..I guess I will have to pray about it, love,Clara

Oh yes I know he is. You would understand your poems better if you knew the situation that is about to manifest. God may even say it to you more clearly in his next poem.

I am not saying that the poems arent for the world to see. However we all know when God leads us somewhere and sometimes he sends messages through others without them even realizing they are sending a message.

Sometimes it is through friends and sometimes it is just to pages or words or whatever he knows that certain person will understand.

I think if you pray and ask God will tell you

A couple of them are from your heart like the one about mothers and the person you lost, however I do see the messages from God to me.

Like I said they may be messages to others also, different messages than mine, but whatever the case we always know when God leads us somewhere

God bless

Laurie, we know there are some terrible days coming and from all indications soon we do not know how soon,God's Time is not the same as ours, But we must all try to be ready and try to get our loved ones ready ,if possible. As much as we would like to we can not force them to believe in God. we can pray for them and ask God to guard and guide them and to draw them to Him but it will be up to the individual himself if he will accept Jesus and all that He is into their lives, they can accept or reject Jesus and we can not do anything about it . prayer is our most powerful weapon to fight the enemy . Love, Clara

Rayne123 3 years ago

Yes I agree with you 100 percent. God has actually made that clear in one of your poems. "Not yet Lord" and a couple more.

They laugh at God but he does get the laugh last, then when its too late, they start to pray.

God wants them to repent with many chances but like God says again in ur poems, what can you do, its the way it goes. God more or less says, you want to do that then I will let you dig your own grave.

God gave us all free will to either accept or reject

God bless

Hello Laurie , It is good to hear from you .Yes, you are right ,when everything else fails with us we turn to The Lord in prayer , it is too bad that He is always the last choice when He should be first in our lives. I guess we don't want to learn to depend on God, still God might not just be waiting for us to come back to Him. Do we really think that we are that important that He will drop everything and some running every time we get in a jam? With the world situation the way that it is we had better get back to The Lord and be true to Him from now on!Love, Clara

Yes we need to talk to God everyday and live in his will, he will give us abundance of life.

But those that are evildoers will reap what they sow.

God bless

Hi Lady Fiddler,It's good to hear from you . Sorry I am a little bit late tonight answering this I was putting another poem on here tonight and some other things, Yes, we all need God even if some think they don't ,God may not need us but we sure need Him. I think I told you that I am 84 years old and yes, that is old , I feel like God has kept me here to write for Him, my husband was disabled for 10 years and I did not do much writing then , I was kept pretty busy trying to care for him , but now I am trying to get caught up with the poems that I had written and He still gives me poems to write yet ,too.Your mother is still a young woman, my youngest son was born in 67 .Time does seem to fly when you get as old as I am .Keep in touch with me,Love ,Clara

Wow you have been doing this a long time, God bless you. I sure wish I had started my poems for Jesus long ago. I didn't even know I could write anything until about 3 or 4 years ago, but then maybe I just didn't let God in to have a say! Since I have let Him in He has had much to say and I have written through many tears!

Another beautiful meaningful poem you have here, voting up and sharing. ^

Thank you , Jackie , Yes , I have been writing for years , I think about the first one that I wrote was in 1945 , I wrote for my brother when he was in Germany in world war 2.It seems strange but I wrote it then and never told anyone about it until 21 years ago when he was dying of cancer, I gave it to him then and I don't know if he ever read it .I would write and just put them back , then in later years , in the 60's I told God I would write for Him alone if He would touch my pen ., I have a hub on ."That's When He Touched My Pen", before that I wrote, some of them were on a poetry site , a lot of other things but they were not spiritual then. That is all that I have written since He touched my pen. I would send them to my friend Tessie in emails and she would pass them on , she is the one who has been my friend since 1954,that's a long time to be good friends . She sent them to Peanut and he wanted me to do something with them , Tessie, Peanut and my second son ,are probably the reason I am on here today. The first poem I ever wrote was when I was 8 years old , it had the longest lines in history, but it rhymed ! I did not try again for a long while that I remember .Thank you Jackie, love, clara

I will try to include that in your story a little later when I have more time. Very interesting. I did your story and Faith did Sparklea's. Faith was every bit for you though as we discussed it and she knew your beautiful work.

Hello Denizee, Glad to see you visit me, I am glad that I have written something that will help you. That is why God gives these poems to me to try and help. Some of them I have had for years but never used them ,I guess it just wasn't the right time but now it seems like this is the time they are written for . I am thankful if any of these poems touch hearts ,that is why God is giving them to me. Thank you very much for your comment. Come back any time. Love Clara.
