If I Could Send A Hug Around The World

If I Could Send A Hug Around The World

If I could send a hug around the world ,

I wonder what a difference it would make.

I wonder what excuse a man would use

For ignoring a hug that he refused to take?

If each of us would just pass a hug along,

I wonder if it would really have any effect,

When Satan comes with his brilliant array

Would we have the strength then to reject?

A world of hugs instead of guns and laws,

What a glorious sight that day we would see.

Each unknown person would be a friend now,

Such friends instead of enemies we would be.

A hug would often arrive at various places

Where a hug is welcome but rarely known.

A hug with wide open arms to each of us

And with no fear of anger ever being shown.

A hug could spread like wildfire touching all,

And each heart will burn from their embrace.

A hug can be a peacemaker to everyone,

No matter what the time or where the place.

A hug can bring deep peace and happiness.

Can you imagine the changes we would see?

The doctor might say," My advice to you ,friend,

You just need a hug a day and it is still free!

I woke up then for it has only been a dream

Started by 2 lovely ladies and our Dear Lord.

No wealth would we need if we are friends

And all have returned to God's Holy Word.

Someday when evil is gone, Peace at last

And God's Heaven on earth we will all see.

Man will be welcome with a hug and a smile.

We know this will be Heaven for all Eternity!

When my son left the house this morning I

decided I was going to stay in bed for

about and hour and a half. Almost as soon

as I was getting ready to go back to sleep

these words came to me, 'If I Could Send A

Hug Around the World"., I knew that I had to

get up and write it down.either that or it would

be gone forever..When God sends me a

Message I have to do it right away ,don't delay

or it is gone forever,.

Oh, Dearest Clara, this is so lovely! I am so glad God sent you this message and you are always so obedient to glorify Him. That is indeed a lovely thought of sending hugs around the world! I believe the world would be a much better place no doubt if the hearts of men and women were changed to love others and give a big warm embrace of a hug for really no reason at all, just to love on them a bit.

I can always feel His loving arms around me!

Voted up ++++ and sharing

God bless you. In His Love, Faith Repaer

I love this idea and this poem Clara. Hugs always help me feel better. They are healing and they are comforting. I also love the fact that you paid attention to that inner urge to write it down before it slipped away. Thank you for the reminder to trust the messages that come our way. Many blessings to you! Thank you for sharing.

Perhaps just one hug per day. That would make one person happy. Then they could pass it on. Could that make the would a better place? Yes, even it makes only one person happier.

God bless you.

Hello Faith, I am glad that you liked the poem . I was not expecting to get one ,I just thought I would catch a few extra winks but when that went through my head I knew I would have to write it try to catch a little extra sleep tonight.I will write as long as God sends them to me, I have a lot more to work with from over the years so I would not be quitting. I hope to have them all edited before God calls me, I have no one to take them over so I suppose they will just die with me, I won't worry about that, Better get off of here, have some more to answer, Love and a hug ,Clara

Hello Michael, I am so glad that my poems help you , I am sure that is the reason I get them ,to help others.I never knew they would affect people like that, but they will not do a bit of good if people won't read them . I'm glad that you do . It looks like some took the time to read them, I would hate to think it was all wasted work if no one looked at them. I know everyone will not agree with what I write but I really expect that and I know that I can't change everybody's mind about Jesus , I will just do the best that I can , it is up to the individual to accept or reject ,they still have free will . I hope these poems will keep on helping you when you need it , A hug to you, Clara

Hello Kathleen ,I came out of a church that was not huggers, When I started a new church near to me I found out they hugged everyone, it really took a little while to get used to it but it was a good feeling before too long, I was not raised in a hugging family so I had that to overcome ,too. Now that I am unable to go I really miss those hugs.not kisses , just hugs ,thought I had better that clarify right away,Not a thing wrong with a hug though at times people seem to get the wrong idea. I think I could use one of those hugs right now.I'm sending you one now. LOL, Love ,Clara

Hello Jackie. I have been trying to answer my messages off an on all day and I am still not finished. I have a comment almost finishes and it wipes off of here, I guess I am going to have to work on this some tomorrow, not tonight though . My son had just left early and I thought I would go back to sleep. not asleep yet when those words came through my head, I was still awake so I got up and started to write ,when that happens I just have to get up and write, or lose it , I cannot afford to do that.,I must write when God sends them to me .We can all pray and see how much can be accomplished .love and a hug, Clara

Clara, YES! You are SO right! Once a flash thought enters the mind of a writer you HAVE to get to it immediately or it disappears forever!

I have relatives who 'don't do hugging' - well, it is THEIR loss.

A hug is so wonderful at ALL TIMES - both good and bad. An embrace means, "I care for you'

Your poem is lovely, inspiring and so true. LOVING the hugs that Jackie and Faith are spreading all over Hub Pages - wonderful to be on the receiving end, so encouraging to writers.

God bless, and you have a wonderful day Clara! You are a treasure. Sparklea :)

Hello Sparklea,I think that probably is the way it is with most people that write, the thought comes to you but it does not stay too long. I have written on scraps of paper or anything available at the time . I was raised in a family that did not do hugging either, or not than I can remember, I think we missed a lot , but in this day and age you would have to be careful who you hug ,it could be a mistaken gesture. we have lost so much anymore.

Thank you for your comments ,and The Hug has brought some new friends ,you one of them . My family are not really concerned about the poems that I write , I receive a lot more encouragement from the Hubbers on here. They do encourage me in writing more. I guess that is how Jesus must have felt around His own people. I will write on here as long as I am able. I think the mistake that was made to bring this all about was from God. It is amazing how things happen sometime.Love and a Hug ,Clara

Thank you ,Kim , for your nice comment. I am glad that you like the poem, I can't say my poem , it is God's and mine , He gives me the ideas and I do with them what I can. Just like He says ,"I started it for you ,now you finish it."I promised Him years ago if He would touch my pen I would write only for Him,so I always try to do my best with what He gives me.

Love and a hug, Clara

Hello Blossom ,it is good to hear from you,I am glad that you like the poem , hugs are important and more so the older that you get. I did not grow up in a hugging family, Not that they didn't love me but they did not show affection that way . The church that I went to did not show affection that way ,When I changed churches in 1995 to a church that was near me here , I could not believe the hugging , I soon found out ,it was wonderful and I really felt that God had sent me there. all of my family and I hug now except one son , very seldom will he hug ,when Jackie and Faith started the hug a day on here God gave me these words when I was going to try to go to sleep ,I wrote ,I didn't sleep ,since you write you know when He sends you the words you have to write then , if you wait they are gone forever,so when He sends words my way I stop everything else and a poem is born ,good or bad.God gives me the words to start and then my job is to finish it .Love and a Hug, Clara

I try to obey every message that is sent to me by God, MsDora, when I may be a little doubtful I do not put it down until it comes to me a little more clear. You know Satan would love to sneak in . Hugging is so much better than fighting, a lot cheaper .too, in the long run. Love and a hug to you . Clara

Thanks Jackie, I saw it was going down but I guess I won't worry about it , some days I can not do all that I need to do , so I will just have to be satisfied with what I get. I will just put the poems on here when I can , the main thing has always been to get the messages out as God gives them to me and pray that they will go to the people that need them.love and a hug ,Clara

clara, so nice to meet a fellow hubber who understands the power of a hug and also the power of the pen. "A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold in a setting of silver."Prov. 25:1 ... Words have the power to change a life. :)

As I sat with the words of this poetry, this phrase rose up as a poignant statement: "A hug could spread like wildfire touching all, And each heart will burn from their embrace." A heartfelt embrace can burn through the hardest of hearts and encourage those who feel weak or alone. Beautifully expressed!

I'm glad you didn't let your inspiration go to sleep with you as you surely would have lost it. I have many 'in the process' hubs sitting unfinished .. that is how I store them until I have time to go back and add and tweak it until ready to publish.

Beautiful and thought provoking hub. Thank you for sharing it! Voted Up +++

Blessings!

Mekenzie

Hello Mekenzie. I am sorry that I didn't get back to you before , between my computer and family problems I have not been able to be on here.I did not quit writing but I just didn't get them on yet. I , too, have many poems started with a few verses to be finished in the future, if Jesus tarries. If He doesn't I am sure He has already finished them for me in His mind.I put my first one back on here last night,I hope you will have time to read it , thanks for your nice comment , love and a hug, Clara
