God is All-Powerful

The video was amazing! The crafting it took to create a system was awesome, convincing unsuspecting interviewees that imminent destruction was upon them. One interviewee was so taken that he stormed out of the room when he found out the ruse. It was a deception pure and simple, but it was so real to those people. They totally bought the acting and the graphic effects, hook, line, and sinker.

This deception was to show the world how far technology has come for our pure entertainment. Imagine watching a football game on a system like that. It would look like the ball is coming right into the room! LG really went all out for this one. I want an LG TV.

I am not trying to do an advertisement for LG per se, though I gladly share my awe of their technology. I want to make the case that we as human beings can do some amazing things by manipulating elements and whatnot to do things for our comfort and entertainment.

We have designed machines to carry us to the moon and to correct our vision. We have developed vaccines that extend mortal life and provide safe clean environments where we are less subject to disease.

We have produced ways to travel faster than sound and artificial environments that please the eye and filter the air. We have insulated ourselves with the things that make us happy and lengthen our free time.

We can genetically alter food to grow larger. We can capture data and link it around the globe. We have all this power and knowledge as a group. We are amazing!

If we can do all these things, it is because we are just like that very person, that very being who created us, even God. Of course, we can organize materials and create things from them that did not exist before. We are children of God. Like any child, we have inherited the creative genius of our heavenly parent.

No one can appreciate the complexity of the creation of a small thing like the Earth; so, how can anyone appreciate the massive thing called the universe? God lives somewhere in this universe of ours.

He has the capacity to travel faster than light--of bending the space and time continuum so that He can seem to appear out of thin air and it is a miracle to us! Is it science? I believe it is.

God's scientific knowledge is a complete canon of information and He can orchestrate the creation of anything because He knows the laws upon which all things must operate, seeing as how He wrote those laws.

God knows how to make gravity at just the right level so that people can walk on the Earth and that the atmosphere will remain around the Earth. In June of 2013, a writer by the name of Vicki on Rest Ministries made a really interesting observation that I thought was very clever and faith confirming. Wrote Vicki,

Do you get angry with gravity? Perhaps once you felt like saying, “Thanks a lot, gravity. Would have been nice if you momentarily ceased your pull so I wouldn’t have fallen.”

While skiing down the slopes, do you gleefully shout, “Gotta love this gravitational acceleration!”

Do you worry gravity will suddenly end? Leaving your plane stranded in the sky, with you drifting endlessly in the stratosphere?

Do you chain your car to the ground in fear gravity will fail you? That you’ll wake up to find your car floated away?

Of course not. We take gravity for granted. It’s dependable, predictable, and constant. We find it easy to trust that power, but not its Source.

Why is it that I can completely trust gravity, but have splintered faith in the Creator of that energy...? [1]

There is no fakery in His designs. They are flawless and no person can see that things were actually made! There are no strings holding up the Earth. There is no pole connecting us to the sun.

Now, of course, all of this seems like a philosophical ploy to skeptics. There is no way to prove that God did all these things. With that same token, there is no way to prove He did not do them. Evidence gives people fodder to believe.

The scientific information that we have that the universe is 14 billion years old and the earth is 4 billion years old does not change the fact that God could have used the "Big Bang" to start it all. It has been added that a black hole started it all, which occurs around us every day. The speculation also is there that the energy from the black hole is constant and that no new matter came from the sudden change in the black hole that allows the universe to exist.

This theory promotes the concept of God organizing the materials that came from the black hole into planets. The person who promotes this point of view is a famous atheist. He does so to prove there is no God. All he did was create another theory where there is no proof that God does not exist! He is the great Steven Hawkins.

He could have used an evolutionary process to create the bodies of Adam and Eve, then place their spirits inside of those bodies. There is nothing countermanding that God's use of the evolutionary process to a greater or lesser degree. There is nothing to suggest that all the different types of humanoid beings found thousands of years prior to the 6 thousand years since Adam and Eve's mortal time had no purpose in human development.

What other beings God allowed to live on Earth, He made a plan specific to them and only thought to concern Humanity with the plan that works for us. Look what God can do with all power!

Joseph Smith Jr. claims to have seen both God the Father and Jesus Christ together when he was just a 14-year-old boy! Joseph had strong faith that God could answer his prayer about what church to attend, so He did.

Joseph was not expecting a personal visit from the God of the universe, but that is what he received. A visit from other heavenly beings also occurred during that same visit of long-dead people. Joseph recorded,

I had actually seen a light, and in the midst of that light I saw two Personages, and they did in reality speak to me; and though I was hated and persecuted for saying that I had seen a vision, yet it was true; and while they were persecuting me, reviling me, and speaking all manner of evil against me falsely for so saying, I was led to say in my heart: Why persecute me for telling the truth? I have actually seen a vision; and who am I that I can withstand God, or why does the world think to make me deny what I have actually seen? For I had seen a vision; I knew it, and I knew that God knew it, and I could not deny it, neither dared I do it; at least I knew that by so doing I would offend God, and come under condemnation.

God did a marvelous wonder to appear to a boy when many people thought that God did not do things like that anymore. Well, He does do those types of things still. He has not changed. If humans can make a flying car, God can appear to His children. He can visit if He wants. He made everything, so why not?

If a medium said he or she spoke to the dead or to God, people will accept that because it means that they don't have to accept anything or be accountable to anyone. When God appears to a boy and makes him a prophet all hell breaks loose!

If a technology company can make a television look like a nuclear holocaust, why cannot God create the heavens and the earth and appear to men? Both things involve reflecting light into the eyes.

Would it be more comforting to refer to God by some other name? The funny part about all of it is that God is in the business of making more like Himself.

A medium is a person who claims to have the ability to contact and communicate with the spirits of the dead. There is no proof that it is real or fake, but I tend to believe it is possible. If a man can rise from the dead, a person can talk to a spirit. Christians are not encouraged to consult soothsayers and mediums.

Paul in his communication with the Romans gave those converts to the Gospel of Jesus Christ some clarity with which they were familiar because of their former practices of multiple god-worship. He let them in on a sacred truth that:

The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God: And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together. Romans 8:16-17

Jesus Christ is recorded as promising to reward those that follow His teachings with all that His Father has. His Father has everything. If we are to be heirs with all that Christ has, would that not make us like Christ in the end, Gods?
