Is Christianity Holding Jesus Hostage?

Why Does Christianity want to hold the Savior Hostage?

The Christian church has held the Savior hostage for centuries saying you must become a Christian in order to be SAVED! Is this what Jesus taught? He said, “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.” (Matthew 19-20). In that statement is there anything about converting people into Christians? “The term 'Christian' was used to describe a follower of Christ in terms of the world, from the world’s point of view. The pagans at Antioch called the apostles "Christians" first (Acts 11:26; 26:28) and used it derogatorily because the apostles didn't follow the commercial world of the pagans. "Christian" is an adjective, not a noun. The substance is not in the word "Christian", the substance is in the heart of the man it is attempting to describe, and which the pagan user cannot see.” Richard Anthony (www.ecclesia.org)

Our Savior was born an Israelite, raised in their traditions, taught in their Synagogues, and was crucified as an Israelite, at what point did He become a Christian? By the Christian churches standards you MUST convert to Christianity in order to be saved through Jesus, OK then by their standards Jesus himself couldn't be saved because he died an Israelite, see how ridicules that sounds. When Moses asks the burning bush, “who do I say has sent me? God answered, ‘I AM WHO I AM. This is what you are to say to the Israelites: I AM has sent me to you’ (Exodus 3:14). This is one of the most important sentences in the Bible, why? Because God in essence is saying He is everywhere, in everything, with no exceptions, so to single out a specific religion, people, or denomination, after the crucifixion would be against His nature.

Jesus warned of wolves in sheep’s clothing when He said, “Watch out for false prophets. They come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ferocious wolves. By their fruit you will recognize them” (Matthew 7:15-16). He went on to say many will come and say they preach the Word of God but their hearts are not with God. God doesn't look at a religion, color of skin, denomination. No He looks into a person’s heart for it is the heart where the kingdom of heaven lies, “The kingdom of God is within you.” (Jesus in Luke 17:21).

Bottom line is that you don’t need to convert to Christianity to accept your Savior into your heart don’t allow the Christian community bully you into believing it.
