Is it from Habit or Love?
Stay Close to the Sheppard
Remember, repent and return
Do you know what my biggest fear is?
It is growing cold to Jesus. I do not want Him out of my life for even one breath. Whenever I feel my life is moving Jesus’ first place out of my life a humble cry goes out to Him:” Oh Lord, take my life from me rather than allowing me to take my love for you.”
He always gently lovingly guides me back into His flock where I belong. My heart bursts forth in joyous exaltations for His wonderful gift.
“To the angel of the church in Ephesus write:I know your deeds, your hard work and your perseverance. I know that you cannot tolerate wicked people, that you have tested those who claim to be apostles but are not, and have found them false. You have persevered and have endured hardships for my name, and have not grown weary. Yet I hold this against you: You have forsaken the love you had at first.Consider how far you have fallen! Repent and do the things you did at first. Revelation 2:2-3 New International Version
Do you go to church or say your prayers or do volunteer work out of habit because you have done it for so long or do you do it out of love for Jesus? Do you find your Christian life boring and meticulous like a robot? How far has your love for Jesus fallen compared to how deep it was when you first became a Christian?
Would you like to re-connect with Jesus? Why not try these three important things:Remember, repent and return. Remember your joy when you were first a Christian. Ask Jesus to show you how to bring that life and joy back to your relationship with Him. Repent: Admit you have strayed from Jesus and ask Him to forgive you (you know He will). Then Return to Him with your heart. Ask Jesus what you must do and how to go it to return to your loving relationship with Him. He will do it and so must you.
Prayer: Jehovah Shammah (the Lord is present) help me to always stay in a deep loving harmony with you every moment of every day.I ask this in the name of Jesus Immanuel (God amongst us). Amen
May the sunshine of Jesus’ sweet love bless you today and every day.
