It's A Family Affair: The Relationship Between Ancient Africa and The Jews

The multi-ethnic people of God

Whom the LORD of hosts shall bless, saying, Blessed [be] Egypt my people, and Assyria the work of my hands, and Israel mine inheritance. Isaiah 19:25

And say, Thus saith the Lord GOD unto Jerusalem; Thy birth and thy nativity [is] of the land of Canaan; thy father [was] an Amorite, and thy mother an Hittite. Ezekiel 16:3

When Isaiah was prophet to the Jews Egypt had been in decline for hundreds of years. Gone were the Glory days of The powerful Blacks of the 18th. and 25th Dynasties and the Blessings that God once bestowed upon Egypt were now "cursed blessings" Malachi 2:2.

I was in my 30s before I realized that Jews came in all colors. While working as an infield facilitator in Sudan in the 80s I had the honor of taking part in Operation Moses, the first airlift of Ethiopian Jews out of Africa. In Ezekiel 16 Gods gives us a synopsis of the history of the Jews. Jews had their beginning with the Hittites and Amorites, but who were these Hittites and Amorites? I believe God intended The Bible to be a guide and a lamp unto our spiritual and intellectual paths (Psalm 119:105). I believe that through the prompting of The Holy Spirit and as our personal relationship with Him grows we are led in amazing ways to understanding the height, depth and width of those things that many, but most will never experience. I don't write from pride because God is no respector of men but He rewards a humble, contrite heart and those who ask and in my prayers I ask for insight and discernment.

The Table Of Nations in Genesis is the Biblical genealogical record of Man. God wanted the world to understand that no created human being is superior to another and all are equally His Creation. But, fallen man is covetous and jealous beyond logic. Like kids, what The Father has given one is compared to what he has given another. We devalue His Gifts to us because of lack of understanding and disregard for His Order.

Simply stated the Hittites and Amorites were descended from Ham through Canaan (the cursed one). Study Ham and you will find that he was the father of Cush, Mizraim, Phut and Canaan, in short Africa and Africans, all. For centuries Black people were taught that their social status was based on a curse God bestowed on Ham. That's an outright lie. First, the "curse" was uttered by Noah against his grandson Canaan not God. This just goes to show how the Bible can be twisted to support the imaginations of men.

The "Jews" have always been a racially mixed people. The problem of race is a modern sociological issue. or a sociological construct. Modern DNA studies are clearing up a lot of racial misunderstanding. Like the Ethiopian Jews the South African Lembaare Black Jews. Their claim is supported by DNA studies. It's ironic that detractors are now claiming that they are not really Black but Semitic. Ok, so what is Semitic?

According to the fields of study Ethnology and Linguistics Semitic is a member of the Afro-Asiatic language family. But, if that is true wouldn't that make Semitic Hamitic-Asiatic? Actually the experts formerly used Hamito-Semitic but this posed a problem for the purists who just can't wrap their small minds around the fact that God chose Ham for such low-high honors.

We all belong to God and our Gifts and Talents are different. Everybody was born into the family that God chooses so that we can best serve Him and bring Him Glory. We waste too much time fighting with others about things that aren't our concern. Our steps are ordered by God, whether you believe this or not. Seek God in how best to serve Him and get on with it. We only have one shot at this.

The Myth of The Chosen People

"I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the father except through me", John 14:6. This statement alone explodes the "chosen people" myth. People who do the will of God are accepted and it has nothing to do with being Jewish or not but everything to do with obedience to the Word of God.

"For centuries Black people were taught that their social status was based on a curse God bestowed on Ham. That's an outright lie. First, the "curse" was uttered by Noah against his grandson Canaan not God."

And if I might add, secondly if to be "Black" was the "curse" then Ham himself, or each one of his 4/5 sons would have to had to be curse.

Even so, the elder, Japheth, shall serve the younger i.e. the sons of Ham.
