Jesus - God or Human?
Our Blessed Savior and God's Wisdom
All of us that are followers of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior sometimes forget some important truths that the Bible teaches. There is nothing in God's Holy Word that is unimportant, but being human, we are not perfect and often overlook some things that God wants to be sure we remember!
Nobody can fully comprehend the power and wisdom of God. Our finite minds just cannot understand perfection and limitless knowledge and wisdom. Even familiar Bible verses that we have in our hearts, we sometimes don't hear the power that the words are speaking as time passes. But thank God, the Holy Spirit often will bring that power to our minds so we can remember what we need to.
God, when He implemented the plan to save us from ourselves, that is, from our sinful state, His perfect plan changed everything. Certainly, God could have sent Jesus, with his diety only to earth to handle the sin problem, but the wisdom in the plan He did use, brought Glory and Honor to Him, and also showed the world the love He has for us and brought many into a relationship with Him
God desires a personal relationship with Him, but that is impossible since we are all sinners. God cannot live in the presence of sin, so in order to establish one, the sin problem had to be addressed. Jesus was His answer to that barrier.
Many people, even I, forget sometimes that Jesus was not only God, but was human also. It is true, that Jesus left Heaven, His power, glory, and riches to come to earth in a human body just for us! That one act completely overwhelms me and many Christians! He gave up so much, KNOWING that He was going to die on the Cross for OUR sins. I can't even comprehend that kind of love. How many of you would endure the humiliating, painful, suffering death on a Cross? Well, Jesus did and only because of His love for us!
Being human and experiencing all that we do, allowed Jesus to completely understand what our lives are like. Although he committed no sin whatsoever, Jesus was tempted, felt pain, sorrow, happiness, love...all the things we experience in our daily lives. Jesus knows us thoroughly.
All of this benefits us! When Jesus died on the Cross, taking all of OUR sins upon Himself, and then being raised from the dead 3 days later, it opened the door for us to approach a Holy God on our own, without having to make a sacrifice or go through a priest. When Jesus died, the curtain in the temple was torn, symbolizing the barrier that kept us from approaching God was removed. Now, as believers, we have free access to our Father anytime we need.
For believers, Jesus is kind of like our lawyer. Another hub reminded me of this, so want the thank that author. When we come to the Father, Jesus intercedes for us and speaks to the Father on our behalf. Even though we are believers, we still are sinners in a fallen world. Since God cannot be in the presence of sin, but still desires a relationship with us, Jesus acts as our attorney, allowing us to communicate with God. God sees us through the blood of Jesus! His blood shed at the Cross cleanses us from sin and when we approach God's Throne, God sees us as sinless, only because of Jesus! What a Savior!
Since Jesus was human and God together, he completely knows how we feel when we come to the Throne in prayer. So, when you grieve over the loss of a loved one, or are frightened about some work problem, Jesus knows exactly how you feel! The Holy Spirit, which every believer has, even speaks silently to our Lord even when we can't express ourselves.
I have been in this situation before, being upset so much that I didn't have a clue what to say! But it didn't matter, the Holy Spirit 'spoke' to our Lord and straight to the Father's ear. What a gift we received...open communication to the Creator of the universe! Nothing can beat that!
In closing, I want to implore you that if you never accepted Jesus as your Savior, it isn't too late. As long as you breathe on this earth, you have God's PROMISE, that if you say with your tongue that Jesus is Lord, confess and turn from any known sin, and invite Jesus into your heart, you will be saved! It is God's promise and he never lies or breaks a promise! He will be with you always...never leaving nor forsaking you! Jesus is the best friend you will ever have...He won't let you down!!!!
You will then be a child of God, be granted eternal life in Heaven, and experience true joy and happiness and a relationship with your Creator! It is free and you will be a new creation! You still will face many trials...but you have the God of everything on your side to help you. Trials are like a refining fire...polishing and shaping you to do His work, thus bringing honor and glory to God! Your rewards will be great, the best reward is being close to a loving, all powerful God who loves you more than anyone ever could!
Praise God and His Holy Name and our Lord Jesus Christ!
Please pray for our Country!
