Judas Iscariot a hero or a bad guy?
Is Judas Iscariot a hero or a bad guy?
I read a hub by a Christian friend on hub pages. The hub claimed that Judas is a hero because he made the death of Jesus possible. That is Judas made salvation possible by betraying Jesus. It is recorded that Satan entered Judas which means Satan tempted him and made him betray his master. Some Christians may not agree that Judas is a hero so they can claim that he is a bad guy.
There are various conflicting answers to the, who tempted Satan? But it seems we can get somewhere by using the case of Judas. The part Judas played confirmed that he was used to achieve a predestined event. Is it not possible that Satan was also used to achieve a predestined event? Secondly, those that call Judas a hero should also call Satan a hero because without Satan, Judas would not have betrayed Jesus. Do they want to deny the part Satan played in the salvation theory?
It was clearly recorded that Satan entered Judas before he set out to betray his master. The same people that call Judas a hero said that he is now in heaven because he repented after his action but Luke 22:22 said “woe to that man by whom he is betrayed.” Well it will be wrong for anyone to claim with absolute certainty that Judas is not in heaven or is in hell but at least we can say that he did what he was made to do.
Do we blame Judas for doing his job well or do we condemn him for doing what he was positioned to do?
This issue will take us to another hub “how did Jesus save the world when he could not save one man?”
